Responding to roll-call were ~.~ayor J. C. Krause, Trustees
Vrinkel and Earl 01son, with Alwin as Recorder, Trustee Jones was absent
A motion by Trustee B. ~. V~Inkel, supported by Trustee Cleon,
aooroving the ".~inutes of the previous meetings, the meeting proceeded
with giving a he,ring to Rt. R. ~E. PoGue who wished the council to
reconsider the payment b$ the villsge of the unpaid !¥m Ste. rk Hosptta~
account. Dr. Pooue w~,s referred to Attorney N. E. Pardee for a
settlement of the matter. This wa2 by a motionless, general agree-
ment of the council.
In response to: an advertisement to receive bids a.t this meeting, the
same to be for main extension~ on 2'ernslde and Rawlins Avenues, the
council received and considered the single snd only bid of Chris
Jensen of Winona, ~innesota, which was as follows:

Accepting this bid, Trustee ~¥inkel moved that such acceptance be hinged
on the proviso that the council can at any time, between now snd the
actual undertaking~ withdraw its action from either one or the other
extension and as circumstance shall advise. ~'urther that the village
assume all costs with respect to the placing of hydrants. This
motion was concurred by Trustee O~son, the rest of the council agreeing.
In line with the above, Trustee Olson moved that the Clerk be author-
ized to spread the assessment for the above extensions, and tha~
he s~dvertlse for a hearing with reference to the ~'ernside ~venue
snd Hawlins ^venue ~Yatermain Assessment. Trustee ~VinkeI suooorted
this motion, the council concurring.
~l'he council receiving the single bid of the ?,~aconia Electric Co.
on an automatic switch control for the ms, in pump of the rill<age
water svste~, there being ~ choice between two, the solanold type for
$210.00 ~nd the '~'ank Control type for $125.00, it wa~ moved by
Trustee Winkel that the village purchase the Tank Control type for
$125.00. Trustee Olson second~dgthis motion, the council ca~rylng.
On motion by Trustee Olson, Winkel suoporting, the Council aporoved
the ~ullding Permit applications of ~arvey Parker and H. ~.. ~.~artln.
~mr~he~;r~a~ theMilger's application was to Oe ~,utomatically
aooroved upon the inve'stigation and O. K. of the ~uilding Inspector.
Following the personal petition of ~rs. E. Palm asking for an adjust-
ment of the street oiling assessment against her property, it was
moved by Trustee ~inkel that the adjustment be allowed on s basis
of a hundred feet at 7.6 ~ a foot. Trustee 01son agreed to this,
the rest of the council supporting.
On motion by Trustee ~Vinkel, Olson supporting, the council aporoved
the ~o~l~wAng aoolicatlons for On and Off ~ale Peer Tavern oermits;
The O'Neill Cafe, the Northland ~fe ~nd ~us Depot, Peter Sollle,
and J. ~. Carlson.
On motion by Trustee ~inkeI, Trustee Olson's suooort carrying the
council, the council aporoved the aoplications of the following

~oft ~Drink ;,polications: O'Neill's Cafe, the Northland Cafe
and Bus Depot, the Most Drug Store, Peter ~ollie, Chapman's
Ca. slno, and J. g. Carlson.
The only o. oolication to ooerate a Pin 2all ~achlne was that oi'
J. ~. Carlson s. nd theft wA~s aoproved by the motion end second
of Trustee Winkel And Trustee Olson. The Clerk was authorized
to shut down ~,ll pin ball machines thet were not in good stand-
ing.

The plat of a new grade for County ~ts~te Aid Road ~o. 15,
over the section known as the short cut, being presented to
the council I'or approval, it was moved by '~rustee Olson th~.%
the new grade be authorized by the council. ~.n secor~b}~ ~lwln,
the motion was cs, tried.
~lhe council having cleared its t~ble of all regul.~r and general
proceedings, Trustee ?~inkel presented the following resolution
as a matter of legal record, to wit:
~,~'hereas only one Did has Oeen submitted to the council for
the construction of wa%ermain improvement ~o. 6, which bid was
submitted by Chris Jensen, of '.?inon~, ?.,~,innesota, e. nd was seale~
and was aCCmompAnied with e~. certified check in the sum of ~300.00
and was in all respects in conform~ty to the notice, which bid was
in the sum of ~I,350.00 for the construction of the extension
of water main on Rawlins Avenue from Dell ~treet to the intersectlm~
alley, and was in the sum of $1,600.00 for con~struction of the
extension of water mains on ~'ernside Avenue from. County H~ghway
Mo. 7 to the ~eton ~::~hort Cut Moad, and whereas said Chris Jensen
has offered to give bond to the Villa.ge of ~,~ound in the sum of
$2,950.00 for tae fs~ithfhl performA~nce of such conszruction, and
whereas the bid of said Chris Jensen is a reasonable and fair
amount for the constr::~ction aforesaid, now, therefore, it is hereby
resolved that the work of constrmcting said improvement be swarded
to said 'Ohris Jensen, that the contra, ct submitted by him be
soOroved ~nd. thst the se~?e be executed im beh.~lf of this village
by the -president and the clerk of this villa.ge ~nd council be
aooroved with the provision th?t the e:~tension on i~awlins ~.venue
and that on ~'ernside ~venue sh~ll be reg~rde~t ~s~ seoara.~e ?.nd that

to be levied for either improvement the council may, in its dis-

rursuant to and in linc with the above, '].rustee Olson presented the
following resolution:
Whereas it has oeen determined that the cost of extending
ws. Zer mains on ~awlins ~venue from ~ell ::treet to the i. ntersectlng
alley in '~lock 9, Abra. helm Lincoln Addition, is the sum of ~;1,350.O0,
and the cost of extending mA. ins on r'ernside f~venue from County
Highway No. 7 to Seton ~hort Cut RoA. d is $1,600.00, and that the
engineering costs, interest, And other necessary incidental
expenses of both extensions will not exceed the sum of 83,000.00
and whereas the cost of three hydrants and other Accessories will
~e the sum of ~330.00.

Mow, therefore, it is hereby resolved t~at the cost of hydrents

or ~arcel of land af!'ected without regard to ceph valu~tlon in eccord-
