MINUTES OF THE REG~J~ MEETIN~ OF THE MOUND VILLAGE OOUNCIL HELD
January.8th, 19 46.
Present at this meeting were Mayor Louise Huestis, Councilmen
G. F. Br0eckert , A. S. Newcom b, and R. J. Rondorf, with Alwin
as Recorder.
The mlnu~eg, of Dec. 4th, 1945, upon challenge, were approved
after verification with reEerence to motions dictated by attorney
Herman 01son covering the adoption of Amendatory Ordinance No. 46.
Mr. ,dalv. in Inman appeared personally before the council t~ get
council react ion on the extension of village water mains along
Hillside Avenue, Koehler Terrace, and Grand View 'Avenue, to replace
a S-inch service now .in use and under the Mound Shores Water
Asstn. ownership and control.. The matter was tabled without
motion to be r~econsid, ered in season along with. other main exter~
sions throughout the v.i.l.lase.
The council gave a hearing to a Mr. Stenstrum~ on the construction
of a bolling alley at an estimated cost of between 20 and 30
thousand dollars and. a.t..some ~ui~ta,bl.e .pl~e ~i.t~hi= thevvillage
limits, i The hearing concluded with comments favorable to the
venture by members of the council.
Mr. F. L, Hetu petitioned the council for the right to operate
one or mere, t~xi cabs on village streets. There being no local
law, or Ordinance, governing public conveyances or -tax. i service,
and it being felt that there should be some village control in
order t~ prevent destructive competition and to ~afeguard an
investment in a public service, it was moved by Newcomb that the
clerk be instructed to write the League of Minnesota Municipalities
for any information covering the matter, same to be presented at
the regular meeting of Februar~ §th, 19~6. This motion was agree~_
to by R endorf, the council carrying.

~ayor Louise Huestis, in her recommendations to the council for the
year 1946, presented the following: ~
All council committees were to remain the same as for the year 19~,
to wit: ,
Water Committee: Broekert and Rondorf
Road Committee: Rondorf and Newcomb.
~Liquor Committee: Newcomb and Rondorf.
Relief Committee; Council sitting as a whol&.
The following Boards serving through the year 194§ were to continue
through the year 19&6 in the persons ~f the followings:

assistence of Geo. R. Cole and J. S. Adams.
The clerk was instructed to write to Edwin A. Hendericks to get
his acceptance of the appointment as Village Attorney.

No Overtime.
On a motion by Newcomb, Rondorf ,supporting, the council
unanimously approved the above recommendations and appointments.
The Surety Bonds Of Justice of the Peace A. S. Brazman,
Constable J. S. Adams, and ~illage Clerk Alwin being presented
for examination, it was moved by Newcomb that the same be approved
and ordered filed. Rondorf supported this motion, the council
agreeing.
The clerk presenting the renewal forms of an agreement as between
the Suburban Hennepin CoBnty Relief Board and the village of Mound,
same being for the control an~ care of local relief during the
year 19 46, it was moved by Alwin the the renewal be approved and
accepted by the council. This motion was seconded by Rondorf, the
rest of the council agreeing.
After the reading of the financial report of the Water Department
For the month of December, 1945, and for the year of 1945, it was
moved by R ondorf that the same be approved and ordered filed.
T his motion was supported by Broeckert, the council concurring.
The following applications for buildinM permits were examined
individually and passed by the councils
Homer Rivard:
A permit t' o build a basement underh~ present home
on Lot 5, blk. 8, the Highlands.
A permit to move a building to Lot 2, blk 10,
the Highlands, and alt~er for a dwelling at a cost
of $350.00.
Darrell David : A permit to Widen the acco~mnodations of his cafe
and Bus Depot~ according to plans appended to his
application~ and at s. cost of $800.00.
Robert 0. Uhlin: A permit to build, a home costing $5,000.00 on
Lot 4, W. Shore of Lake. Langdom

The above report having been presented in greater detail, trustee
Newcomb moved for its acceptance bytthe council. Rondorf seconded
this motion, the rest of the council carrying.
Trustee Newoomb 'moved that the clerk, at every regular meeting,
furnish the council with a statement of all ~eyeoollected by
t he village during the preceding month. This motion was support ed
by Rondorf, the council a~reeing.
