MINUTES 0F THE REGULAR HEETING OF THE MOUND VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD
August 8th, 1946.
Meet in~ opened in the presence of a full council.
The matter of negotiating a deed to the village of catholic church
propert; needed in widening a bend on Central Ave., and presented
by Irving Ns. gel, was referred to Rondorf and the Ro.~. Cor~.nittee
without motion.
R. J. Bergum, on a personal petition to repair County Road No. 15,
wasmpromiaed pressure upon the ~ounty Highway Department by the Mayor
and Road Committee,
After a hearing covering the matter , it was moved by Alwin that
Zoning Crdinance No. 46 be amended to include the old school building,
owned by the Streater Industries, Inc., into the Industrial Zone '
for the purposes of light industry. Newcomb seconded this motion.
On roll-call vote Rondorf voted "Yes," and Broeckert "NO", and so the
motion w'as carried.
Council members took occasion to warn G. W. Bergstrom that he could
not use his private garage in a strictly residential zone for com-
mercial'lrepair work. This was on the personal petition of Geo. R. Cole
and %",il~iam Putt.

Rondorf~oved to raise Todd Ave. t o a safe level at its intersection
with Central. Broeckert seconded this motion, the council carrying.
On a motion by Rondorf, Broeckert supporting, the petition to extend
village !water mains onto Langdon Road and. East Lake Street was to
be placed into the hands of Arleigh Smith, Engineer. This motion was

The PerSonal pbtition of Messrs Donald Painter and Neesenson to open
ahd grade Morgah Ave. in the A. L. Add. of Lakesid~ Park was r~fe~ rred
to Rgnd~rf of the Road C ommittee.
The TreAs's report received the approval of the council on a motion
by Rond~rf and a second by Newcomb.

On a mo~ion by ~ondorf, Newcomb seconding, M. N. Johnson's salary
was rai~ed to $175.00 permonth, beginning with August, 1946.
Newcemb moved that Fernside Ave., tying the Short Cut and County
Highway No. 7, be tarred. B~roeckert agreed, the council cat,Ting.
VILLAGE OF MOUND
In connection with the public commons on the Lakeside Park and Harrison
Bay Frontage, Newcomb presented the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
WHEREAS the oI ouncil of the Village of Mound dee ms it nec essary
for the benefit, convemience, we lfsre and public good of the
citizens of the Village of Mound and others, to apply through the
Commimsioner of Land,~ in and for Hennepin Count y, ~innesota, for
conveyance of title to the following described tax forfeited lands
an~ whereas the same he~s been used by the public for~many years past
as a public street and as a water bank commons, and whereas: the
publlc ha~. for many years past been under the impression tha~ it has
been public property and part of the public grounds belonging to
the Village of Noun~4 to wit:
That part of Lot (30) Thirty lying East of Lakeside Park,.
A. L. Crocker~s First Division, and South of an~E ast and West Line
through the North corner of s~id Lakesid~ Park, according to the map
ahd plat thereof now on fi~e and~of record in the office of the
Register of Deeds in and for Hennepin County, Minnesota, the same to
be continued for the use, benefit, and behoof of~ the citizens of the
Village of Mound and t~he public in g~ne~al,
N0~¥ THEREFORE, be it resolved by the council of the Village
o~ Nbund, that such application be made to the Commissioner of
Lands in and for Hennepin Count y, Minnesota, for the conveyance of the
above described lands to the Village of Mound, and that said appli-
cation for ~nd in behalf of said Village of Mound be signed by its
~proper officers to wit: the Mayor and Recorder thereof.
And be it further resolved that four certified copies of s~id
resolution be attached to the four copies of saidmapplication.
Question was put on the adoption ~f the resolution and roll
call being had, the following YEAS were recorded: R.J. Rondorf,
G. F. Br oeckert, ~, S. N~wcomb, and LeRoy V. Alwin. NAYS; NONE.
Presid~ut Louise Huestis off,red the following resolution:
W.~EREAS, the Village Council of the Village of ¥,ound, Hennepin
County, Minnesota, has received from the Land Commissioner of
Henne pin County, a list of land in ~aid village of Mound which has
become the a~olute property of the State of ~,~innesota under the
provision of laws declaring the for~ture of landm to the State for
taxe~_~, which lands have been classified by the County Board of said
Hennepin as non~-conservation and for sale, pursuant to the laws of
Minnesotaf~' 19~, Chapter G88, Section l, am~ amended, which list of
land ,is~ designated as ~,ist 196 "C" July ~9th, 19~6, and~
WHEREAS, this Council has made a complete examination of all
facts and circumstances relating to such parcels,
NOW TNEREFORE, acting pursuant to s~aid Section l, Chapyer 386,
as amended,
BE TT RESOLVED, that the Village Council of ~aid Village of
Mound approve the classification of the said County Board of said
l~nds as non-conservation and for sale .
