1948-01-06VILLAGE OF MOUND 895 MINUTED OF THE REGULAR ,~EETING QF THE MOUND VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD January 6%h, Respondimg to roll-call at this meeting were Past-~{ayor Louise,Huestts Past-Councilman R. J. R, ndorf~, w, ith A. S. Newcomb and F. L. Hetu as Councilmen Holdovers, and with LeRoy. V. Alwin as re-elected Recorder. Present also were the newly elected Mayor, Dr. W~. I Doris, snd the newly elected Councilman, Raymond L. Pierce. The meeting was opened with Past-Mayor Louise Huestis in the chair who requested the reaAlng of the Minutes of the regular meetin~ of Dec. 2nd, 1947, of Dec. 16th, 1947, and of the special meeting of Dec. 23rd, 1947. These minutes were approved as read with the exceotlon of a motion by Rondorf having referenqe to the walk repair in front of the ~eter Sollle Store, which repair had been on the recommendation of the Village Engineer as an item of ?lllage expense, and which the motion inclUded, but the minutes failed to state. After a perusal of the bills for the month of December, 1947, it was .moved by out-going Councilman R. J. Rondorf that the same be approved and paid. Hetu seconded this motion, the council of 1947 carrying without dissent. With the reading of the Minutes and the recommended change and the approval of the bills, Mayor Huestis, with s short farewell address, withdrew, followed by Rondorf, and the meeting continued now under the Chairmanship pf Mayor Wm. I. Davis. After %he review of applic~tions of Geo.. T. Graves to erect a concrete block structure on Lot 23, Subdiv. Lots ! to 32, Ravenswood, tha~ of Lyle John Roeckers to have the non-conforming use of s trailer hou'se to be located Sar six months on Lot 46, Koehlers Add. and for one year on Lot 47, Mound ~hores, these periods to run in succes,~ ion; thai of H. M. Wells to build a basement home on Lot 2, Blk. 7, ~ound Terrace; and that of Fred Hoofer to move a 14x14x9 building from Lot 76, ~ound Add., to ~hady ?~ood, it was moved by Alwln that a Building permit be granted to Geo. T. Graves. Councilman Pierce ~seconded this motion, the council carrying. The council was agreed thS~t the'Roeckers Trailer House request was a matter to be decided by the owners of the Lots in question. The council was of a mind ~o award a Building Permit to H. ~. Wells provided he would have his appli.catlon approved and signed by the Rullding Inspector. On a motion by Hetu, Pierce supporting, the application of Fred Hoofer to move a building was allowed On the applications of Geo. T. Graves for Off Sale and On Sale,Beer Lic. it was moved by Pierce %hat an Off Sale Beer License be put in force to July 1st, 1948, but that an On ~ale License be subject to Petition under the terms and provisions of the Village Beer License Law. Newcomb seconded this motion the council carrying, On a metlon by Newcomb Douglas D. Bryce was awarded a license to o~era[e three taxi cabs on village streets for the Year January 1st, 1948 to Dec. 31st, 1948, provided he filed with the village clerk 896 VILLAGE Of MOUND a schedule of his taxi cab rates. the council agreeing Pierce supported this motion, As a nece=sary-lorocedure in connection with the ~ale by the Village Tater ~Department of regi. stered U. f'. HerSe~t ~rolner and W..E. ~olstad presented s final plat showing the subdivision into Iots of ~hirley Hills Unit "F", recently re. zoned in part ~s light industrial and commercial, which presents~.tlon was for the ourpose of receiving the final approval of t~e council. Therefore, Newcomb moved that ,the council approve,and ~ccept in whole the plat as presented ~"nd that the [~ayor and Clerk be ~uthorlzed to sign the necessary certificate so that~the plat might be officially recorded, and filed with the County Auditor, with the Register of Deeds, and with the village of ~,~ound. Pierce supported this motion, the council unanimously agreeing. for further dlsct~ssion Upon legal ~dvice, s. nd in order to reopen/the application of ~. J. Rondorf for s permit to erect a Rus Termln~l on Lots 2 & 3, Auditor's Subdivision ~170, Alwin moved that all past action on this application be recinded.
