The ~.{inutes of January 6th, 1948, being, approved as read, the meeting
proceeded, with the reading of the resignation, from the council
of Fredrich L. Hetu.. 0n a. motion by Ray~L,..Pierce~ Alwi~ supporting,
the council officially accepted~the Hetu resi~ation.
Pierce. now moved that the council appoint~ Bernard, F,.~;inkel to
se~e- out the- ~expired term~ of- ~-. L., Hetu,, -i~ewcomb seconded this
motion,-the co~cil approving with a majority,vote,, Alwin voti~ against.
Yewcomb. moved- to retire the old, Zoning, Board and to replace it
with~, the appointment of J. ~i. Richardson, as Chairman, Ralph March,
~3ene, White, R. W. Ponsford, and. Rev. 0be~.Vell,. ~ R,,L. Pierce
seconded the motion, the co~cil unanimously, a~ireeing.
Uoon giving, a. hearing to and, questioning, representatives of the
~ump Division, of Fairbanks, D[orse & Co,~Winkel~ now of the co~cil,
moved, that the village advertise for bids~for.the delive~ and
installation, with accessories, . of a deep, well.turbine p~p, such
bids to.be, received and,passed upon at, an-aa~ourned regular
meeting, of the council to be. held at D~00-P~.M~.saturday,
February 21st, 1948. Bidders were to, refer-themselves to

Gene White appeared for an adjustment of water main assessments
against ce~ain lots owned by h~ along Chipman Ave. ~ the subdiv.
of L~eeide Park ~ .the Village of Mound, ~dicating that he
would deed the lots to the village rather t~n pay the assessments.

On a motion by Pierce, suppo~e~Y NewcomB, the co.oil authorized
the payment of the following salaries for the Year 1948, same to
take effect Feb~ let, 19~8:
J. S. Adamm, $~00.00 per month; W. B. Bowers, $~0.00 per
month; J. C. Ste~, $~00.00 per month ; M. N. Jonson, $185.00;per month
Ferdinand Schwa~z, $1~5.00 per month,, wit~ 4 days off for police
duty at $10.00 per month; Nra Edna ~oder, $ ~5.00 per month for
half time ~d Baturdaye off; LeRoy V. Alwin, $1?O.O0 per month
at full time.
It was ~derstood the Gene White would m~e recommendationeto
the council with reference to a fo~ of Building Pe~it, and also
with reference to the appointment of a Building Insp&ctor.
