All members being present, and the minutes of August 3rd and lOth being approved with a revision in the latter relating to Johnson and his garbage dump, which was.to be ~ricken out and in its place the fact that the matter was discussed with no action taken, th{s on a motion by Pierce and a second by Wirfl~el, the council proceeded with a hearing to C. ~. Frisk of ,Lot 50, blk. 8, The Highlands, covering the permissibility of a trailer home in the neighborhood. The matter was referred to Wolner for investigation. After hearing Ho!mquist and Schwartz with re~erence to the Johnson hogs in the ~!ound cemetery, the council accepted Attorney Wolner's advice that the police officer swear out a complaint, directing the village attorney to obtain removal of animals from the village under Ordinance No. ~5. on a belated petition to include water to Lot 9, blk. 4, The Highlands, in Project No. 10, A~derson the ~wner was informed that Project l0 was closed and was presently subject to bid. On a motion by Newcomb, seconded by Pierce, Arle~ Smith was authorized to survey and rtu~ out lines on the L~ound Cemeter~y. Carried. ~.~.....-~ ..... Answerirg~he personal petition of R. C. Finley to continue the non- confor~ing mbatus of a building on Lot 4~ Lynwold Park, under his ownership, he was info.ned that the present permit terminates on April 1st, 1949, and that he would have to apply at that time. ~=fter hearing attorney Cdlbert of Delano, representing the L{essers Neises, owners of the Seton 3.~©. % beer tavern, and W. E. El~lof, representing a body of neighborhood opinion opposing the tavern on moral grounds as well as presenting a parking and traffic ~roblem, the matter was placed into the hands of attorney Wolner to determine the legality of the Neises petition and the position of the council in the matter. In response to bids on a cash register for the Liquor Store it was moved by Pierce and seconded by Newcomb that the council accept the bid of the National Cash Register Co. in the amount of $1,185.00 for~ D~odel 606416 RE-iO. Carried. Carried, After discussion~it was moved by,!~iewcomb and seconded by Winhel that the salary of ~e .o~pu~y Treasurer, retroactive to July 1st, be set at ~50.00 per month to the end of the year. Carried. It was mov~.d by Newcomb and seconded by Pierce, that on water bills two qual~ters in az~rear~,the clerk be instructed to notify parties immediately that if bills are not paid ten days. from date of letter the water will be turned off. After discgs~ion it was moved by Ifewcomb and seconded by ?finkel that the clerk be authorized ta notify the Cotmty Auditor to cancel all water main special assessments dated prior to Jan. 1st, 1943, and collectable durin~.~; the year 1949. Car::"ied. On a mogion by Wil[4el, supported by Ne~,~,comb, the council authorized pay~.ent of all of t?,'e following bills, excepting only ~105.02 in the P o o r fund. F~!lov,~i,'¥~ discussion, it was moved hy Newcomb and su?~ported by Pierce that the Project 8 Assessment be changed to extend over 14 years, that corner lots fronting intersecting mains be exempted 50 ft., and that irresularly-shaped lots, z:, similar circumstance, s, be com~uted on a basis of front plus rear divided by two, and that in a few special instances the engineer be free to use his own judff, ement.
