MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MOUND VILLAGE COUNCIL ADJOURNED
FROM DEC~BER 17th to DECEMBER 30th, 1948.
Responding to roll call were Mayor Davis, Councilmen Pierce and
Winkel, with Alwin Recording.
The purpose of this meeting was to receive, question, and pass upon
the recommendations of a Mr. Hoyt Gevey and a Mr. Chalmers, representing
the Republic Meter Co., in connection with the belated installation
of~a Republic Elow Meter in Village Water Pump Nb. 3.
After interviewing Sevey abd Chatmei~s and reviewing respOnsibilities
entering intb the case and as applying to Arleigh~ Smith, village
engineer, the Alexander Construction Co. who connected the pu~p
to the village mains, and the Layne-Minnesota Co., who supplied and
installed the pump, and, ~further, it being discovered in the cbn-
tract of Layne-~.~Iinne~ota Co. where that company specifically agrees
to install a RepUblic Flow Meter, the Council was in full agreement
that the matter be~ placed~ into the hands of Village Attorney
Herbert E. ~,~olner~ and that the latter be authorized to write to
Layne-Minnesota Co. fdr a fulfillment of contract. This was put
to motion by~ R. E. Pierce, and seconded by B. F. Winkel.
After a review of the several deficits existing amon~he village
funds, it was moved by Pierce to transfer ~IS~G000.00 fron the
Liquor Fund to the General Fund; to transfer $11,JO0.O0 from the
General Fund to the Road Fund; to transfer $700.00 from the General
Fund totthe Park Fund; and to trGnfer~$J~O00.O0 from the General
Fund to the Water Fund, this latter representing a refunding of
money advanced to the General Fund by the Water Fund during the
year 1939. This motion was seconded by Winkel and carried by
the council.
The me~ting lapsed into a general discussion of qualifications
and s~ppointments to the various village committees and Boards.~
