Responding~to roll-call was a full council in the persons of ~Iayor ~V. I. Davis, and councilmen 7Tinkel, ~hite, Pierce, an~ Alw in, The meetin~ opened with the reading of two petitions, 6ne calling for the laying of "Black-Top" along Highland Ave., in the Village Subdivision of The Highlands, from that street's intersection with High- land Bouleva~ to its intersection with ~.[0und Avenue, and the other oetition requesting the oiling of all of the streets within the confines of the Baptist's Assemby Grounds. A~cordln~ to the certifications of the clerk, the si[~natores of the petitions, ineach. case, reoresented more then fifty-one. (51) percent of the frontage involved. Following discussion, and in answer to these petition, councilman ~2hite presented the following resolu- tion and moved its adoption: BE IT RESOLVe; Pursuant to Section ~4-~8 of l[i~mesota Statutes that the Council of the Village of [.~[ound, deeming it necessary and expedient, authorize the paving with "Black-Top" and the otherwise improving of Highland venue, from its ~ntersection with Highland BoBlevard to its intersection with }~ound Avenue, all within the vi!la[~e subdivision known as The Highlands, an~, further, that the Council authorize %he sprayin~ with suitable, as a du~t coat, all of the streets within the village' subdivision known as the Baptist's Assembly Ground. BE IT FURTHER ~SOLVED ~a% On th~ ~Tth Day of J~e/ 19A9, at 8. P. ~. in the offices of the village council in the Vil!a~e of l[ound, a hearing will be held for the purpose of determining the advisa~i!ity and desir~ability of effecting such improvement, and that all oarties interested in said proposed improvement slwslt sppear at ~s~id time and place to be heard in reference to the proposed improvemeht. BE IT ~P~HER RESOLV~ that the Clerk of the Villase of ~.~IoBnd shall oublish this resolution in the }~[innetonka Pilot on the 16th Day of June, 19~9, and that the Clerk shall send copies of the published resolution .to .all ;pe. The council autkorized the payment of ~27.50 to tke Collector of Internal Revenue for an Off Sale Liquor License for Year 1949-50. Pierce also rer~orted the definite stoppai~e of vl!la[~e cabs being; used as "liquor rummagers." After a discussion of such various items as full-time help for tke ' li~.uor store, the awaited revision of the Vi!!a6e Building Code, Garbage Disposal at the dump, and the, advertisement for bids on Hi/~land~ tarin6 and st~'eet_ oiling, and the I~umici'oa~ ~- Bids imnrove- ments, the meetin6 adjourned.
