Responding to roll-call were NaYor W. I. Davis, Councilmen Winkel and
White. ~Pieree ancl Alwin were a~sent for cause.
The primary purpose ef the meeting was t~ present a ~earing~ as
advertised, cowering the #Bla~k Top" pavir~ of Nighland ~AYe. and
the dustcoat oiling of all of the streets of the willage subdiwision
of the Baptist's Assembly Ground.
It becoming ewident at the bearing tbat the frontage owners of
Hi~hland Awe. wanted dust¢oa% ell rather than "Black Top" paving,
and tkey beir~ ready to eir~mla~e another petition asking for
an ell seat instead of "Black Top, same-to be ready and~t~ be presented
at t~e Regular Neetin~ of July. §t~, 1949, it was moved by W~lte-,
and supported by Winkel, that the petition ~e returned en ~reunds
that it did not represent the actual wishes-and underst.andir~ ef
some ef the signers, and also that it contained lot numbers in error,
reported ~y people who were not %ke owners of said lo~s. This motion
was carried. ' '
With reference to the Assembly Ground Street oiling, it was mowed ~y
Winkel ~hat the petition for the dust coat oilin~ of the AssembSy
GrOund streets be approved, since t~ere wsre no objectors, and that
action with reference t ~ the actual oiling be taken at the
Regular council meeting e~ July 5tk, next. W~ite secende~ this
motion, the council carrying.
After rewiewin~ a petition for street light on Keeh~er Terrace
in the vicinity of Lets 35 & 36, or Lo%~ ~3 and 94, it was moved
by Winkel that the sa~e be approved and that the Clerk be authorized
to make out the necessary forms and to contact the Interstate
Power Co. in order to Bring this about.
on the personal presentations of Robert Neises with reference t~ the
renewal of his 3.2% ~eer Tavern License at the meetin~ of July 5th,
1949, it was generally a/~reed by the e~un~ll that, there bein~
ne immediate neighborhood objections, that his license woul'd' Be
approved an~ that he could continue t~ operate without interrmption
during t~e interim.

RESOLVED, t~at the Village of Meund, by ~ts Mayor and Clerk,' Make,
exeeu~e, and'deliver a Qmit-Olaim Deed to John' Robert Stevenson
and 'Raehe~ M; 'St evenson; .husba~nd"and .wife,- .eenveylng that certain
preperty a~utting on Ohipman Ave. in the Village of MSund, County
of Hennepin and State of Minnesota as follows:
Ail of Let 38, 39, and 8outJ~west half ef AO, except the Southeaster-
ly 25 feet thereof measmred from the center ef the abutting
street, all in Bloek 2, Lakeside Park, A. L. '0roeker~s 'lst Additien,
Memnd, Minnetenka, aemording to the reeerded plat thereofnen file
with the Register of Deeds in and for said County of ]lennepin,
State of Minnesota; and that said deed specified that it is given
te clarify any ambiguity arising from ~eed recorded in Book 1792

The motion te adopt ~eing seconded by WINKEL, it was carried by a
vote of Ayes, Davis, Winkel, and White; Nayes, none; and so the
Resolution stood adopted.
Arleigh Smith being present to press his claim for past services
rendered during the years 1947 and 1945, it was the general 'agree-
ment of the council that no definite agreement could be reached
until conferences were held with former members of the council.
With referenoe to the purchase of a g~ader by the village, it was moved
by White that the village advertise for bids on the sale to the village
of a grader coming up to the following specifications:
One Tandem Drive Diesel Notor Patrol, 4§ to §2 M. P., Fully Equipt
with starter, Lights (Nlnnesota Approved), all steel cab, cab heater,
windshield wiper, safety glass, 12' moldboard, Engine Hood Doors,
and Uniform size tires, front and rear.
Such advertisement to appear in the issues of the Minnetonka Pilot
of June ~Oth, and July ?th, 1949, and that all bids b e opened and
considered at a Special Meeting dated for July l@th, 1.949, at 8 P.
Following a discussion of water, toilets, and heat for the office
and liquor store, it was the general agreement of the ooun¢il to
consider the specifications to be prepared and offered by W. E. Solstad
and Bert Larson.
The eemncil heard the r~port of Village Attorney Herbert Wolner
covering recently enacted legislation affecting village governments
throughout the State, and the types of government the people will
~awe to ekoose from at special elections to be dated ~efore the
next general election.
The council was agreed that Niss Thuftedal smbstitute as counoil
stenographer during the absence of Mrs. Ponsford, and at 'the meetin~
of Jmly 5th, 1949.
With this, the meeting adjourned, on the motion ~y White, supported by
Winkel.
