MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETINg3 OF THE MOUD VILLAC-E COUNCIL HELD
November 1st, 1949.
,A special meeting of the council of the village of Mound was duly
held at the village offices at 8 Btclock P. M. on the first day pf
November. 1949, for the purpose of considering a petition for the
annexation of lands to the V~llage of Mound.
There were present William I. Davis, Mayor, R. L. Pierce, Bernard
Winkel, Gene White, and LeRoy V. Alwin, being all of the members
of the council.
The Clerk reported that there, had been filed in his office, a pet ition
pursuant to Section 412.041, Subdivision 4, of },Iinnesota Statute,
for the annexation of certain land lying Easterly of the former
boundries of the Village of Mound, and that a maJor~t y of the owners
of the land proposed to be annexed, had ~igned and submitted the
petition to the Village Council of ths Village of ~ound. The
petition was duly read; and thereupon a discussion relative to
whether or~ not the annexation would be ~o the best interest of the
village and of the territory affected was had.
After due consideration, Councilman ~ha~d.~;inkel moved and
Councilman Gene V;hite seconded the motion for the adoption of the
following resolution, namely:
WHEPW. AS, a majority of the owners of land within the boundaries
hereinafter described, have petitioned the Village of ~ound to have
sudh land included~ within said village; and whereas, the council
of the Village of Mound has determined that the annexation .will
be to the best interest~ of~ the village and of the territory affected:
Now Therefore be it resolved that pursuant to the provisions of
Section ~12.041, Subdivision 4, of Minnesota Sta%utes, a hearing be
held in the, council room of the Village of Mound at 8 o'~clock in
the P. ~. on the 5th Day of December, 19~9, for the purpose of con-
sidering the proposed annexation of the following described lands
in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, to wit:
C&mmencing on the Easterly Boundary of the Village
of Mound where the same intersects the Southerly
boundary of County Road No. 7, thence Easterly along
said Southerly boundary line of said County Road No.
to the point wherd the East line of County Road No
Joins the same: thence Northerly along an extension of
said East line of County Ro.ad #128 to the center line
of County Road No. 7, as formerly laid out; thence Northeasterly
along the center line of said County Road No. ~,
as formerly laid out to a point in a line parallel and
distant sixty-six (~8) feet Easterly from and at right
angles to the Westerly line of Lot One (1), Coronado
Park, Lake Minnetonka, Hennepin County, Minnesota,
extended south; thence northerly on a line parallel
with and distant sixty-six (~6) feet easterly from
and at right angles to the ~Vesterly line of said ~ot
One (1) Coronado Park, to the Southerly boundary of
the right-of-way of the Great Northern Railway Company;
thence Westerly along said Southerly boundary line of
the Great Northern Railway Company right-of-way to
-Overa
the Easterly limits of the Village of ~jIound, aS existing
prioD to October 1st, 194~; being territory principally
in Section Eighteen (18). Township One Hundred
Seventeen (llT),~ Range T,wenty-T~hree (~) in the County
o~f Hennepin and State of Ninnesota.
Be it further~ resolved that the clerk of the Village of ~ound
publish notice of a hearing on the ~proposed annexation at least thirty
(~0) days prior to the hearing thereon, and post notice of the
same in three c~ons~ictkous places.
Upon vote being taken, there were the following oersons voting yeas,
Winkel, White, Pierce, Alwin and Davis; and the following voted
Nays, None. And so the Resolution stood approved.
