Answerihg roll-call were DaVis, -%Vhite', ~inkel,. and Pierce. Alwin
was absent for cause. Prasent also were Village Attorney H. E.
Wolner, and Village Engineer Feyder of Totz, King & Day.
After the reading of the Ninutes of preceding meetings, it was moved
by Pierce and supported by Winke~ that the Minutes of the Heeting of
October 8t~ b__e~vised to read that the transfer of funds from the
liquor to 6%~h~unds was in the amount of $~,800.00. This was
carried. Other than this, the minutes were approved without change.

On motion by Nhit§, seconded by P~erce, the council awarded, a
Building Permit ~to ~arl Gruhn for the improvement of a Bu&lding on
Lots l0 & ll, Koehler~s Addition to Nound, with the understanding
that eventually he would bring the whole of the building to conform
to buildimg code requirements.
The personal petition of John S. Carlson for the opening of a street
in Carlson's Addition to Shirley Hills was referred to committee to
be report, ed~ bac.k. ~a~, oth~ ~r~g~ul.~r meet.i~ ~f. ~the council on Dec. ~th.
The council'heard the case of a Hr. Kane who claimed $1~0.00 damages
for the abtrusion by the village, with its street and water main, ~Don
his Lots I & ll, Blk. 9, Hound Terrace.. ~pon the motion of White,
Pierce supporting, the matter was tabled pending an~?~ invemt~igation
of the values of the case by village attorney H. E. ~Volner, 'same
to be reported upon in writing at th.e-regu~-ar meet. i~ng ~.th.e ~council
in December, 1949.
In answer to the proposal of Ted Hamann with reference to the care
of the village dump, it was the consensus of opinion of the council
to have the situation governed by a village ordinance under the
terms of which the village could come to an agreement with Hama~m.
This was the suggestion of Attorney ~olner. In the meantime Hamann
was asked to put his offer in writing.
Upon the request for a change in Tax Status of property recently
purchased by the school in Shirley Hills, Unit "D" for the erection
of a school building, Councilman Pierce presented the following
resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLVED, Shat Harry ~artin, Acting Village Assessor, be authorized
to approve the apDlication bearing the date Oct. ~Sth, 1949, for and
on behalf of the Village of ~ound, for reduction in assessed valu-
ation of real estate purchased by ~ound Gonsolidated School, District
No. 85, for use as a school site.
White seconding the motion for adoption, the vote of the council
stood as follows: Yeas, Davis, Pierce, ~Vinkel, and White; Nayes,-None.
And so the resolution stood adopted.
On the report and recommendations of Councilman ?;inkel with reference
to the purchase by the village of Gov. Blk 5 as a Park and cemetery
extension, it was the agreement of the council to limit the purchase
to the 300 feet immediately East of the cemetery property now
owned by the Village. Further action was made contingent Upon a
proper survey of the a~ea, which was to be looked after by Cemetery
Custodian Holmquist.

co~cil with the proviso that all applications were to be in by
December 16th, 19&9.
0n a motion by White, seconded by Wi~el, the council authorized
payment of all bills with the exception of that of Wilford Henson
in the ~ount of $15.00 covering a culve~ installation, ~which
was al. ertl.ed: on %.h-e ~.~.~ :;t~.t .i.t. ~$ .excessive and contrary to
agreement. The bill ~as ordered~to be returned.
