On motion dul~ made by Pierce, seconded by Litts and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 12:00 P.M. to re- convene on March 23, 1953 at 8:00 P.M. · Village Manager MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING, March 23, 1953 Meeting called to order in Krause's basement at 8:00 P.M. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Pierce, Livingston, Wenk- stern and Litts, Manager Leikvold and a large delegation of citizens. The Mayor asked the citizens if anyone had any objection to granting Walter G. Olson a permit to operate a mortuary to be located in Shirley Hills, Unit F, Lots 24,25 & 26. No one answered. Pierce offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: Whereas, Walter G. 01son has duly applied, pursuant to Ordinance No. 46, as amended, for a special permit for the operation of a mortuary and funeral home to be located on Shirley Hills, Unit F, Lots 24, 25 & 26, Block 3, duly zoned Commercial in said Village, and, Whereas, the Council duly caused to be published in the March 12, 1953 issue of the Minnetonka Pilot, a Notice of Pub- lic Hearing on said application wherein notice was duly given that a public hearing on said application wodld be held before the Village Council at Joe Krause,-a.~basement om the 2Srd day of March, 1953 at 8:00 P.M., sad, Whereas, said hearing was duly held at the said time and place and all persons present and interested in said application VILLAGE OF MOUND 1399 were given opportunity to be heard thereon and consideration given by the Council to the evidence presented therein, and, Whereas, after consideration thereof, the Council is of the opinion that the operation of a mortuary and funeral home by said Walter G. Olson to be located upon the foregoing de- scribed premises will not materially affect adversely the public health, safety or welfare, or the adjacent property values, or the health, safety or welfare of persons residing, working or passing over or through said area, Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That: Pursuant to Ordinance Number 46, as amended, Walter G. Olson be and he is hereby given a special permit for the operation of a mortuary and funeral home to be located on Shirley Hills, Unit F, Lots 24, 25 & 26, Block 3, in the Village of Mound. The primary purpose of the meeting was for a public dis- cussion of a petition relative to the operation of the "Casino" which had been presented to the Council by certain residents of Mound. The following people spoke: L. P. Brechet, Victor Clausen, O. L. Kaupanger, P. M. David, Arthur P. Guy, A. P. Guy, Sr., Lloyd Bowers, H. P. McKinney, F. L. Groschen, Bradley Morrison and Patricia Johnson. A transcript of the meeting is on file in the Village Office. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
