Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Litts, Livingston, Pierce Wenkstern, Manager Leikvold and Attorney Bonham. and Minutes of the regular meeting of June 8th were read. Litts moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to adopt the minutes as read. The following Ordinance was read: Ordinance N~. 33, ;~mendment 4. ~n Ordinance ~mending Ordinance No. 33 ~ntitled "Water works Ordinance N~.. 33 Covering the.0per~tion of the ~[~ter ¥[orks System, Mound, Minnesota." The Village Council of the Village of Mound, Minnesota, ordains: Section 1, The following Sections of Ordinance ~o. 33, dated gune ~, 1934~ and entitled "¥at-crworks 0rd.~nanc~ !~7o. 33 ~overin6 the Operation of the ¥.[aterworks Syste~, Mound, ~dinF~esota" are hereby emended to read as fcl!ows: A. &pplicstion for Installation !. Property owners desiring service con~ections made to their premises must file an ap? licati on with the Superintendent on blanks ?rovid'~d for this purpose. Each a? !ication must be accompanied by the payment of' the charge specified in Section ~. Genere! 11.1 here- of. Upon payment of such charg~ and al!ow~'~cc of the agplication, the Superintendent will cause the connection from main to curb box to be installed by a duly authorized employee. B. installation ~. Copp-~r service pipes must be used by the applicant for that VILLAGE OF MOUND 1419 portion of the line lying between the curb box and the ~uremises. Connections from main to curb bo~ Are to be of copper ont~. Ail pipe must be capable of ~rithstanding pressure up to 150 lbs per sq. inch. Service pipe must be laid at least 6 feet 6 inches deep below the surface of the ground from the main to the curb box. ~.e- fore any trench is backfilled, the complete line is to be tested under the normal pressure. D. Meters 3. ~t the written request of any owner or consumer, the Super- intendent will test the meter supplying his premises. A deposit of ~3.~0 will be required by the Superintendent and this will be returned if the meter is not found to be registering correctly within two per cent on a flow equal to 1/6 the diameter of the service or in favor of the cons.tamer. Otherwise, the deposit will be retained by the superintendent to cover the cost of the test. E. General 7. Any person who shall wilfully and without authority from the Village injure or remove any property under the control of said Village or interfere in any wa~ ~ith the operation, constr~ction, or repairing of the waterworks or who sh8!l operate any valve or hydrant or who shall unlawfully enter any building of said water- works shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of not to exceed 90 dsvs, or shall be fined an a~ount not to exceed !i~!00.00. 9. Any person who shall maliciously or wilfull.v divert the water or shall corrupt or render the same impure shall b~ guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be imprisoned for a period of not to exceed 90 days, or shall be fined an ~mo,.~nt not to exceed ~100.00. 11. The Village reserves the right to make any such further rules and regulations and to change the rates from time to time as may be necessary for the preservation, protection and proper opera- tion of the water system. The following rates are hereby established: 1. The charge to be imposed for service connections from the water main to and including curb box and the ~urnisbing of one meter shall be ]i~45 and labor. A deposit shall be 'made in the amo~nt of ~4~ with each application for such connection. Note, the con- nection from curb to premises must be made by the owner or con- sumer subject to regulations of the Village. 2. For turning on or skutting off water ~i;2.00. 3. Meter maintenance, ~0.2~ per quarter year. 4. For water consumed: A minimum charge of ~3.~0 per quarter for 10,000 gallons or less per quarter; For the next 20,000 gallons, ~.2~ per 1,000 gallons per quarter; '1420 VILLAGE OF MOUND For the next 220,000 gallons, I!).!5 per !,000 gallons per quarter; Ail over 250,000 ga!-!ons to 500,000 gallons, ~.12~ per !,000 ge!lons per quarter; Ail over 500,000 gallons, ~.08 per 1,000 gs!lons per quarter." Livingston moved the adoption of this Ordinance. The Village Manager reported that the pavilion .at the park is in bad condition and something shoald be done with. it soon. It was decided to meet at the Pavilion on July 16th at 7:00 P.?_~. to look at t~e building and discuss any action that might be taken.
