Huett! 17 S & L Glen Arbor Residence(Remod) 2,000 39 to Litts moved, Livingston seconded, and transfer ~i~6,00 from the Liquor Fund to it was unanimously carried the General Fund. An informal hearing on Dog Control was held. Mayor Behmler stated that because of the manic complaints received of dogs molesting people and damaging property, the Council deemed it advisable to hear how the citizens of Mo~nd would react toward some form of dog control. Village Manager Leikvold~ read a model ordinance drawn up by the Minnesota League of Municipalities, which requires that all dogs be 1424 VILLAGE OF MOUND licensed and under control either by being fenced in or on a leash. The hearing was then turned' over to the audience. The majorit,v of the people present were in favor of some sort of dog control. A complete transcript of the hearing is on file in the Village Office. Lltts moved, Pierce seconded, and it was unanimousl.v carried that the Council place the item of a Dog Ordinance first on the agenda for the next regular meeting. The Park Pavilion was discmssed. The Village Attorne.v was directed to look up the deed on the ~,~a~k to see if there were any restrictions on it. Livingston ,moved, Litts seconded, and it was .~nanimous!¥ car- ried to give permission to the school to have a traffic signal in- stalled at the school crossing (in front of the high school) pro- vided it meets state reqL~irements. In regard to complaints on sidewalks which ha.ve been received by the Village Manager, ~.t was the consenses,~of opinion that the property owners are responsible for the sidewalks abutting their property. The Council set up the following series of meetkng dates for the purpose of setting up the Budget for !9~4: August 17, August 2~, and a meeting in September, possibl.y the 28th. In answer to the request made by Mr. Rondorf for permission to install a gas tank under Dell Street near the Chevrolet Garage, the Council instructed the Manager to inform him to try to place it else- where. The request by the Koehnen TV Repair Shop to hang a 4'x 8' sign over the sidewalk was referred to the Village Attorney. She said it was against the state law to hang signs over the sidewalk, the.~~ sho,~ld be kept flush with the wall. The council instructed the Manager to so inform Mr. Koehnen. The petition to be anne×ed to Mound by propert~ owners in Orono Township west of the Seton Channel and north of the railroad tracks was referred to the Village ^ttornev. Livingston moved, Litts soconded, and it was unanimous!¥ carried to invest ~8,000 of the ?.I.R. Fund in a 6-month Certificate of De- posit. On motion duly made, seconded and ca~ried, the meeting adjourned ~t 10:4.~ p.m. to reconvene August 17th. Village Manager
