1953-10-12VILLAGE OF MOUND ~437 On motion duly made, seconded an~ carried,~ the meeting adjourned. MINUTES OF REGULAR MEgTING, October 12, 1953 Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. at the Vi]_lage Office. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Livingston, Lites, Pierce and Wenkstern, ~anager Leikvold and Attorney Bonham. There were also reprementatives from the League of Women Voters and the Fire Dept. Minutes of the regular meeting of September 18, 1953 were read. Litts pointed out t~at there was an error in the second paragraph~that he could not have seconded the motion to approve the minutes because he was not present. This:paragraph should be amended to read, "Minutes of the regular meeting of August 10, 1953 were read. Pierce moved, Wenkstern seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read." With this correction, Pierce moved, Litts seconded and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of SePtember 21, 1955 Were read. Pierce moved, Litts seconded and it was tmani- mo,~sl.~ carried that the minutes be approved as read. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of September 24, 1953 w~re read. Wenkstern moved that the minutes be approved as read with the exception of the paragraph de~ling with the P.I.R. Fund. Pierce seconded, and it was unanimously carried. The minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of September 29, 1953 were read. Pierce moved, Wenkatern seconded, &nd it was unanimously carried that the minutes be approved es read. The minutes of the adjourned regular meetin~ of October 1, 1953 were read. Livingston moved, Litts seconded and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read. Fredrickson 49 L~nwold Park Porch 800 59 BUIEDIN~ CODE Pierce moved that the Manager be directed to gather information on building codes with a view to revising the Village's Code. With a .second by Livingston, the motion was adopted unanimously. LIGHT FRANCHISE Mr, Fotral of the Interstate Power Company was present in regard to the renewal of the franchise which expires May 1, 1954. The Council decided to have the attorney draw up a franchise for the Council's approval. ALLEY BEHIND KRAUSES, STANDARD 0IL, Etc. Mr. Pier~e offered the following resolution and 'moved its ad opt ion: BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The resolution of May l, it shall read: 1951 be amended so that, as amended, WHEREAS, a majority of the owners of property abutting on the twelve-foot alley in Lot 52, Lynwold Park, have requegted the village council in a petition dated April 18, 1951, to relocate such alley according to law, and, WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on May 1, 1951, before the village council in the Krause Building on such petition after due and published notice had been given on April 19 and 26, 1951, and all persons interested were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEREAS, it appears that it will be for the best interest of the village to approve such petition, Now Therefore, i BE IT RESOLVED THAT such petition is hereby granted and the present alley in the Easterly 125 feet of Lot 52, Lynwold Park, Village of Mound, Hennepin County, Minnesota, is hereby vacated and relocated to the Easterly twelve (12) feet of the Westerly thirteen (13) feet of the Easterly 125 feet of said Lot 52, L~nwold Park, when conveyances of such property for such relocation are received 1440 VILLAGE OF MOUND from property owners to the Village of Mound, and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the village attorney is author- ized to receive and approve deeds for such land and that the mayor and village clerk are authorized to convey by Quitclaim deed all interest in said Lot 52, Lynwold Park, to the property owners owning land abutting on the former alley except the easterly 12 feet of the westerly 13 feet of the Easterly 125 feet of said Lot 52 which shall be reserved for a public alley and other public purposes./ / Mr. Wenkstern seconded the motion to adopt said resolution and, the roll being called, the same was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: R. The Council directed the Village Attorney to amend the Nuisance Ordinance and Dog Ordinance so that people who own vicious dogs or dogs that are a nuisance came be compelled to pen them up. PARK PAVILION The Park Pavilion was discussed. It was decided that the question of what to do with the Pavilion should be put before t~ voters in the fall.
