MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR M!~ETING, December 28, 1953
Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. at the Village Office.
Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Litts, Livingston, Pierce and
and Wenkstern, Manager Leikvold and Attorney Bonham.
ELECTION
Wenkstern offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
WHEREAS, on December 8, 1953, a General Election was duly held
in the Village of Mound for the election of a Mayor for the term of
two (2) years, a Trustee for the term of three (3) years, a Constable
for the term of two (2) years and a Justice of the Peace for a term
of two (2) years, and,
WHEREAS, the Judges for said election have duly counted the
votes cast therein, proclaimed the results and recorded the same in
the tally book provided for the purpose as follows:

AND WB~.~REAS pursuant to M.S.~. ~212.36, the Village Council
~ball meet as a canvassing board and declare the results appearing
from said r~turns, and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to said statmte, the Villag~ Council now
meets as a canvassing board for such purpose,
NOW, THE~FORE, Be It Resolve~ That:
1. The following persons are declared elot~d to th~
follo~ng offic~s:

Trustee -- R. L. Pierce;
Constable -- 0. S. Adams;
Just of the peace -- M. Charles Kelley;
The Village Clerk is hereby instructed to give written
notice to each person chosen of his election to the
office named and to certify the results of said
election to the Co,matv Auditor.
Mr. Litts seconded the motion to adopt said resolution, and
the same was passed onanimousl~.
~,~URS ING SERVICE
Litts offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Sections 145.08 ahd 145.12 Minnesota laws
of 1949, as amended, provisions were made for the establishment of
a public health nursing district in that portion of Hennepin County
outside the City of Minneapolis, and,
WHEREAS, On January 4, 19~2 the representatives of a number of
towns, villages and cities of rural Hennepin County in a meeting
at Robbinsdale, Minn sota, established a public health nursing dis-
trict pursuant to Sections 145.08 and 145.12, laws of 1949 as
amended, and proceeded to elect a Committee as provided for in this
act to administer the affairs of such District,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the governing body of the
Vil'lage of Mound that this political subdivision be included in
the public health nursing district of rural Hennepin County as
organized on January 4, 1952 for a period beginning January 4,
1954 and terminating on January 4, 19~ and that it participate

in the benefits thereof for such period only and that it agrees to
support on an apportionment basis, for such period only, its pro
rata share of the cost of the administration of such district.
Provided, however, that this cost for such period shall not exceed
thirty-seven cents per capita on the basis of the official 1950
Federal cens'us of tha ¥i~ll.age of Mound.
The motion for adoption of said resolution was seconded by
Livingston and there were five yeas and no nays as follows:

INTERSTATE LIGHT FRANCHISE
The remainder of the evening wss spent discussing the proposed
franchise with Interstate Power Company.
