1956-01-09MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING , January 9, 1956 Meeting called to order in the Village Office at 8:00 P.M. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Livingston, Litts and Adams, Mammger Leikvold and Attorney Bonham. Minutes of regular meeting of December 12th were read. Livingston moved, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read. Minutes of the Canvassing Board Meeting of December 12th were read. moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read. Adams Minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of December 19th were read. Adams moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read. DUMP, Private Garbage William Johnson was present. The garbage dump was discussed but no action was taken. TAXICAB Feral. Schwartz talked to the CoUncil about the taxi situation in Mound. TRANSFORMER at School Interstate Power Co. officials were present. The school's transformer was discussed. O1 TRANSFER Liquor to Bond & Int. Litts moved that $~be transferred from the liquor fund to the Bond & Interest Fund to pay the interest due on the fire bonds and that the ~ interest be paid. Livingston seconded the motion and it was carried unani- mously. STREET IMPROVE- MENT BONDS Litts moved that $225.00 interest due on Street Improvement Bonds be paid. Livingston seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. paid. TRAVEL EXPENSE Lifts moved that Livingston's bill for mileage in the amount of $4.00 be ~ Adams seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. Lifts moved that the contractor on the Fire Hall be paid $8,460.00 as per the architect's certificate. Adams~ seconded the motion and it was carried unani- mously. TRANSFER Street Improvement to Spec. Assessment. Livingston moved that $1,181.97 be transferred from the Street Improvement Fund to the Special Assessment Fund and that the amount be used to pay princi- pal and interest as they come due. Livingston moved that the blanket employee's bond be continued at $2,500. Adams seconded the motion and it was carried uhanimously. ig24 VILLAGE OF MOUND Livingston moved that the County readvertise on bids on Highway #15. seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. Adams OFFICIAL DEPOSITORY On resolution by Litts, seconded by Adams, the State Bank of Mound was designated the official bank for the Village of Mound for the year 1956. Roll being called, the vote was as follows: Litt s Aye Adams Aye Livingston Aye Behmler Aye and so the resolution was carried. SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX On resolution by Livingston, seconded by Litts, the Treasurer together with anyone of the Trustees or Mayor shall have access to the Safety Deposit Box located in the vault of the State Bank of Mound. Roll being called, the vote was as follows: Livingston Aye Litts Aye Adams Aye Behmler Aye and so the resolution was carried. ACTING MAYOR On resolution by Livingston, seconded by Litts, Trustee Pierce was desig- nated Acting Mayor for the year 1956. Roll being called, the vote was as follows: Livingston Aye Litts Aye Adams Aye Behmler Aye and so the resolution was carried. SIGNING OF CHECKS Litts resolved that all checks or drafts drawn on village funds shall be signed by the Mayor, Treasurer and Manager. In the absence of the Mayor they shall be signed by the Acting Mayor. Adams seconded the resolution and on a roll call the vote was as follows: Litts Aye Adams Aye Livingston Aye Behmler Aye and so the resolution was carried. VILLAGE OF MOUND i625 OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER On resolution by Livingston, seconded by Adams, the Minnetonka Pilot was designated as the official newspaper for the year 1956. On roll call the vote was as follows: Livingston Aye Adams Aye Lit t s Aye Behmler Aye and so the motion was carried. VILLAGE ATTORNEY Litts moved that the Manager's appointment of Miss Bonham as Village Attorney be approved. Adams seconded the resolution and on a roll call the vote was as follows: Litts Aye Adams Aye Livingston No Behmler Aye and so the motion was carried. Attest: Village Manager MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING, January 23, 1956 Maeting called to order in the Village Office by Mayor Behmler. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Livingston, Litts, Adams and Pierce, Manager Leikvold and Attorney Bonham. The resignation of the Manager was read to the Council. Pierce moved, Litts seconded and it was unanimously ca~-~-led that his resignation be accepted as of the 14th of February. VILLAGE OF MOUND AUDIT At the request of the Manager, Livingston mo~ed, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried that all the village books be audited. LIQUOR STORE MANAGER The Council instructed the Manager to ask Mr. Grieshaber if he would take over the job of managing the liquor store on a temporary basis. LIQUOR STORE & VILLAGE OFFICE PLANS The Council instructed the Manager to discuss with Mr. Petri drawing up preliminary sketches for the liquor store and village office. FIRE HALL Livingston moved that the Fire Hall, with the following exceptions, be accepted by the Village: 1. Install men's toilet partition. 2. Outside painting (subject to weather). 3. Install four (4) door kickplates and rear equipment room exit door holder. 4. The overhead doors will be balanced and made weather tight after final painting. 5. These items are to be completed not later than April l, 1956. Litts seconded the resolution and on a roll call the vote was as follows: Livingston Aye Litts Aye Adams Aye Pierce Aye Behmler Aye and so the resolution was carried. SCHOOL - Rental space A letter from School District #85 relative to renting classroom space was read to the Council. cem Y OAD A letter from the County Engineer relative to the street improvement on County Road #15 was read.
