1956-05-14VII_L.AGE OF MOUND Livingston moved, Aaams seconded, that we e~ploy Vernon Boxell at $5000.00 per year as Manager of the Village of Mound, his employment to start on Ma~ 18, 1956. Motion carried. Motion by Pierce, seconded by Adams that we contimue our arrangement with Harry Martin as Acting Manager of Mound up to May 16th, 1956. Motion was made by J.S. Adams, seconded by Geo. S. Lockhart that pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 46 of the Village of Mound, as =mended, a public hearing be held in the Office of the Village of Mound, Minnesota at 8:00 P.M. on the 28th day of Ma~, 1956, in connection with the matter of a building permit requested by Mound Properties, Inc., Herbert E. Wolner, President, to erect an oil station on the West 150 feet of Block 4 of Shirley Hills Unit F Addition. The resolution was adopted unanimously. Motion Livingston, Seconded by Lockhart that the adjourned meeting called for May 7th be and hereby is cancel~. Motion carried. Mayor Behmler adjourned the special meeting at 10:45 A.M. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Pierce, Livingston, Adams, and Lockhart, Attorney Bonham and Acting Manager Harry Martin, and Appointed Manager Vernon Boxell. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 9, 1956 were read. Livingston moved, Adams seconded, and they were approved as read. Minutes of the Adjourned Regular Meeting of April 16, 1956 were read. Adams moved, Lockhart seconded, and the minutes were adopted as read. Minutes of the Special Meeting of May 5, 1956 were read. Pierce moved, Livingston seconded, and the minutes were approved as read. FIRE STATION LANDSCAPING Fire station landscape plan for the Mound Fire Hall grounds was outlined by Frank Weiland. Motion by Lockhart, seconded by Adams ,we~ 'approve the plan of the Fire Hall committee at not to exceed the cost of $150.OO. Motion carried. Frank Weiland further proposed that a 14 X18 cement slab be permitted at the rear of the Fire Hall, ~hich the firemen wish to install without cost to the Village. Motion Lockhart, seconded Livingston we grant the permission for same. Motion carried. i_64:8 VILLAGE OF MOUND PETITION ON DI, gET,'LTNGS Roger Lehmann presented a petition objecting to two dwellings on that part of Lot 5, Block 8 lying Southerly of the Northerly 50 feet. Moved Pierce, seconded Livingston that the matter is referred to the Village Manager and Attorney for investigation and their recommendations to be presented .at the next regular meeting. INDUSTRIAL ZONING Herbert Wolner brought before the council the matter of the zoning as industrial certain propertY. DOCK ON HAR?~ISON BAY A communication from Kenneth Coles requesting permission to erect a dock on the commons on the southwest shore of Harrison's Bay with the ruling that the village does n'ot have the right to grant permission for private use of the commons, as the commons is for the public use and any dock or anything erected on same could be used by the public, NORTHLAND CAFE P~quest by Frederick Olson, proprietor of Northland Cafe for extension of closing hours to I A.M. daily except Sundays. The Lake Avenue job is to be referred to the manager for lack of a second.
