Re: Lot ~, Block 8, The Highlands
Gentlemen:
At the regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Mound on
August 6, 1956, the undersigned was directed to write you as follows:
The two dwellings located upon a portion of Lot 5, Block 8, the
Highlands, known as the Homer Rivard premises and which we understand you
presently own, do uot conform to the zoning ordinance of the Village in
that the lot area for each dwelling is less than 6000 square feet. We
understand that Mr. Rivard secured a permit for the building of a garage
on the premises sometime in 19~l and that he subsequently converted the
garage into a dwelling without a permit. In fact, no permit for the dwelling
could have been issued in view of the lot area requirements.
It will be necessary for you to re~onwe~ the second dwelling back
to a garage for which the pe~ait was oriEinally issued. The Council
requests that this be done at the earliest possible time. It wishes
to ex~end to you the opportunity of so doing before directing the
Village Maoager to employ the abatement proceedings provided in such
matters by ordinance #~l.
Yours very truly,
BONH~M & F~VANAGH
