1977-02-1527 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 15, 1977 at 7:30 P. M. at the MOUND COUNCIL CHAMBERS Present were: Mayor Tim Lovaasen; Councilmen Orval Fenstad, Robert Polston, Gordon Swenson and Ben Withhart; and. City Manager Leonard L. Kopp. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Tom Goulette a.nd Sally Rutledge appeared before the council to talk over mut~,~,1 problems and explain the survey taken by the Chamber last fall. Mr. Goulette said he belived that the renovation of the Westonka Civic Center was the contribution of the Chamber a.nd that they planned no further use or activity except the use of the building, as a.ny other civic group had. He stated that the Chamber was plan- ning acalendar for the area to inform as to what was going on and. try to prevent events from being scheduled on the same date. BEACHSIDE DEVELOPERS Earl Nelson, Vern Viet and. Mr. Betz were present to represent the Beachside Developers. They outlined their plans a.nd their time schedule and. stated they were prepared. to dedicate a large area foahe City of Mound for recreation and. enlarge their planned 'tot lot'. A meeting on the site was set for February 20th at 4 P.M. with the council. Fenstad moved. and. Polston seconded. a motion to pay this bill where funds are available. The roll call vote was unanimously in favor. Fenstad moved and Swenson seconded. a motion to continue this special 'meeting until 8:00 P.M. February 16, 1977.
