1956-11-07CANVASSING BOAF~ MEETING, November 7, 1956, at the Mound Fire Station The Council meeting as a Canvassing Board was called to order: Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Pierce, Adams, Lockhart, Livingston and Manager Boxell. Pierce offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: ~HEREAS, on November 6, 1956 a National General Election was duly held in the Village of Mound, WHEREAS, the judges for said election having duly counted the votes cast therein, Proclaimed the results and recorded the same in the tally books provided for that purpose as follows: A total of 1,359 votes being cast. Lockhart seconded the motion to adopt said resolution and on roll call the vote was as follows: Pierce Yea Lock=hart Yea Livingston Yea Adams Yea Behmler Yea and so the resolution was passed. MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING, November 7, 1956 The meeting was called to order immediately after the adjournment of the Canvassing Board Meeting. present were: Mayor Behmler, Trustees Pierce, Adams, Lockhart and Livingston, and Manager Boxell. The meeting was held at the Fire Station. NORTHERN STATES POWER Meeting ~lth Norbhern States Power Company's representatives. A. Report on commercial and industrial rates for village. B. Report on residential rates for village 1. ~ot water rates VILLAGE OF MOUND C. Rat~s to village for 1~ Water Pumping 2. Street Lighting D. Their proposed plan of street lighting for Mound E. Request for a new Franchise F. New contracts for water pumping and street lighting SANITARY DISPOSAL SYSTEM O. L. Kaupanger presented a report to the council on step it should take to obtain Federal Aid. 1. MAke application for Federal Aid 2. Prepare a bill to p~esent to next legislature for the creation of a Sanitary or Drainage District in this area. Mrs, Kaupanger also stated State Department of Health and State Department of Water Pollution were very interested and favorable for such a district. Suggest the council to contact Mr. Rogers of State Department of. Health in regard to this matter of Sewage Disposal. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, meeting adjourned to reconvene November 26, 1956 at the Fire Station. VilZage ManAger MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING, November 26, 1956 Meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. at the Fire Station. Present were Mayor Bhemler, Trustees Livingston and Lockhart and Attorney~Bonham. Absent were Trustees Adams and Pierce and Manager Boxell. SEWAGE SYSTEM Mr. Wheeler of Pfeiffer and Schultz discussed the latest information concerning a sewage system for the village. The Council agreed without official action on a series of three meetings: The engineers to present a calculated figure of costs. Surrounding communities to be invited to this meeting. Possibly a decision would be made as to the inclusion of surrounding areas so far as future provision for their sewage disposal. 2. Presentation of a financial plan for the sewage system as determined by meetings.
