Minutes of the special meeting of December 12, 1957 ~re read, and on motion by Brazman, seconded by Adams, was unanimously approved as read. Livingston moved, Adams seconded, a~d it was ,~amimo~sly carried to approve the minntes of the adjourned regular meeting of December 16, 1957. Braz~an moved, Lateen seconded, and it was vnanimously carried to adopt these minutes ~ith the folle~ng correction: The sum of $600 trans- ferred frem the Liqaor Fund to General Fund to readt The sum of $1,080.28 transferred from the Liquor Fund to the General Fund. ON & OFF S~LE B~SR LICENSE Donald G. Rush of Rash's, fomaer~y The Village Inn presented an appli- cation for an On and Off Sale Beer I~eense. Lareon moved, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried to table the application for farther study. Mound Piggly Wiggly presented a petition for the erection of a freezer box in the alley back of the Piggly Wiggly ~tore. Larson moved, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried to grant permission ~ith the follo~ng provisions: 1. Thirty days notice by Village in ease of removal. 2. Exterior must be constructed of fire proof material with approval of the Fire Chief and ~Ailding Inspector. PLANNING CO~qISSION At the next regular monthly council meeting each ceuncil member is 179 VILLAGE OF MOUND to come prepared to discuss the personnel to serve on the //~%/~ planning commission. PBOPEP~Y PLAT - Langdon Heights The Village Manager was instructed to contact Wm. Bressel in regard to the plat plan of his property lying to the west of Langdon Heights. 1958 UNION WAGE DISCUSSION The following proposals for the 1958 wages were. ma~e; and accepted Pay Schedule Water & Street Foreman, Winkel... ............. Work Week Liquor Store Employees Monday through Saturday, 40 hours per week except part-time & extra help to be used as needed~ ,and police personnel to work 40 hours per week as needed & Btreet Department Monday through Friday, 40 houra per week. ~. Election days to be observed as paid holidays by Liquor Store. 5. Sick Leave Sick Leave shall be accu~mlated at one day per month up to 60 days. Any employee who has an illness of 3 days or more must have a doctor . in attendance and must fttrnish proof of such with medical certificate. 6. Vacations Vacations to be granted at the rate of 10 working days (2 full weeks) with full pay after one year. Such vacations will be taken when Village Manager or department head shall designate. When a designated ho]_iday occurs during the vacation period of an employee, he shall be entitled to an additional day's vacation. Vacation days are not cumulative past the end of each year and vacation periods cannot be worked on a double time basis. 7. Uniforms In future, supply original uniform for police; per annum for present force, 2 shirts~, 2 ties, 1 cap. ' 8. Agreement to be made in ~esolution form. 9. G ~T~ABER SEUERANCE WAGE SETT~ Livingston moved, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried to pay Grieshaber the sum of $199.37, two weeks vacation pay coming. 1794 VILLAGE Of MOUND FIRE DEPARTMENT DISCUSSION Brazmsn moved, Larson seconded, to'rescind the previous action by resolution at the adjourned regular meeting of December 16, 1957 and grant permission to the Fire Department to answer all fire calls for a period of six months from this date. Motion and support was withdrawn. Meeting with the Fire Department committee was set for January 22, 1958 at 8:00 PJ/. at the Fire Station. TRANSFER OF CASH Adams moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to transfer $1,000 frau the Liquor Fund to the Police Department and $1,000 from the Liquor Fund to the Street Department. Livingston moved, Larson seco~led, and it was unanimously carried to trans- fer $1,000 from the Water Fund to the General Fund Administration. OFFICIAL DEPOSITORY On Resolution by Larson, seconded by Brazman, the State Bank of Mound was designated the official bank for the Village of Mound for the year 1958. SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX On Resolution by Livingston, seconded by Larson, the Treasurer ~ith any one of the Trustees or Mayor shall have access to the Safety Deposit Box located in the v~lt of the State Bank of Mound. SIGNING OF CHECKS On Resolution by Adams, seconded by Brazman, it was resolved that all checks or drafts drawn on village funds should be signed by the Mayor, Treasurer and Village F~aager. HEALTH OFFICER On Resolution by Larson, seconded by Brazman, Dr. Kenneth Romness was designated as the Village Health Officer for the year 1958. BOARD OF HEALTH Resolution by Brazman, seconded by Larson, that Dr. Kenneth Bomness and Harold Peterson, Building Inspector, and Lloyd Bowers, Fire Chief, be designated as the Board of Health. Brazman moved, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried to adjourn to meet again at 8:00 P.M. at the Fire Station on January 22, 1958.
