Peter sen BE IT KESOLVED, that the Village Manager be instructed to post Notice for a public hearing on the petition of citizens of the subdivision of "Douglas:" Hennepin County, Minnesota, except Lots 15 and 16 of Block 7 and the northerly one-half, front and rear, of Lot 1 of Block 12, and that part of Enchanted Island lying within Sections 25 and 36 of Township 117 l~ange 24, Sennepin County, Minnesota; to annex to the Village of Mound. The date of the hear ng to be set for April 26, 1960 at 8:00 P. i%4. in the Village Hall at Island Park, Mound, Minnesota. ~ Roll Call vote: So carried and resolved. The vote was unaminously in favor. So carried and adjourned. Mayor MINUTES OF THE ADJOUKNED MEETING OF MARCH 29, 1960 at 8:00 P. M. at the ISLAND PARK VILLAGE HALL, MOUND, MINNESCrA Present: Mayor Larson, Trustee Om, Petersen and Batdorf; Attorney Ploetz and Manager Boxell. APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEE Batdorf offered the following resolution and moved its adoption. Petersen seconded the motion. Roll Call vote: So. carried and resolved. Petersen Aye Orn Aye Batdorf Aye Larson Aye DEL PFEI(FEK TAKES OATH AND SEAT ON COUNCIL The clerk served Notice of Appointment to the office to Trustee on Delmer Pfeifer. The clerk administered the oath of office to Del Pfeifer. After congratulations of the council Mr. Pfeifer took a seat with the council and began his duties as Trustee of the Village of Mound, Minnesota. PUBLIC HEARING FOK REZONING The affidavit of publication for the deleting from the residential district class A, Lots 9 through 13, inclusive, Block 3, Shirley Hills Unit D, Hennepin County, Minnesota., and adding to the commercial use district Lots 9 through 13 inclusive, Blcok 3, Shirley Hillm Unit D, Hennpin County, Minnesota; of Zoning Ordinance No. 46; was displayed. The affidavit being sufficient the hearing was called to order. Roge~ Sherman and John A. Miller represented Orrin Hoefer and Stanley Guindon the proponents 1Virc. Leighton Lin~land spoke for the oppenents of the rezoing. Notice of Objection to proposed amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. with the clerk and then reviewed by Mr. Lindiand 46 was filed Mr. Flynn of the Brunswick Company, a bowling supplier firm, spoke in favor of the rezoning, and explained his company policy in regard to supplying the bowling lanes with equipment. Also speaking in support of the rezoning were: Erie Krause, Leroy Boynton and Mrs. Trippler., Bill Roberts Speaking against rezoning were: Mr. and Mrs. Wiltosky, Mrs. Frevert and Allen Sollie, ap_parantly against. Mr. Darwin Dickey spoke against the rezoning as well as Mr.~l~:'.tkronson and Mrs. ~Valter Madsen. The Council and the Mayor questioned both propoents and oppenents. Attorney Ploetz explained the restrictions on the area, pointing out an error in documents. Mayor Larson inquired into the liability of the village in the advent of a tax- payers or citizens suit. Attorney Ploetz did not care to make a statement. The petitioners advise the council that they are willing that if legal matters should follow a rezoning, the fillage need not defend a rezofiing, that petitioners will take on themselves the defense of same and at their own cost. Stated by John A. Miller. The Mayor continued the hearing until the adjourned meeting of April 7, 1960 at 8:00 P.M. at the Island Park Village Hall, Mound , Minnesota; in order to give the council an opportunity to study the documents and data in regard to the hearing. So carried. AL QUIST 3.2 BEER LICENSE Batdorf moved and Orn seconded a motion. BE IT MOVED, a temporary On and Off Sale 3.2 Beer License be granted go A1 Quist from April 1, 1960 to July 1, 1960; at a fee of $3.00 for the period. The vote was unarninously in f~-vor. So carried. ORDINANCES Tavern and Liquor Ordinances were discussed. A council m~eting was scheduled for April 5, 1960 at 7:30 P.M. at the Mound Village Office, primarily for the study of ordinances. ASSESSING FOR 1960 The problem of an assessor for 1960 was discussed. It was decided to advertise by story and classified advertisement in the Minnetonka Pilot for an assessor. Batdorf moved and Orn seconded a motion to adjourn until the adjourned meeting of April 5, 1960 at the Mound Village Office, at 7:30 P.M. The vote was unaminously in favor. So carried and adjourned.
