RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SALE OF BAR AND BACK BAR WITH ATTACHMENTS
WHEREAS, the bar and baCk bar presently located in the Village of Mound Off Sale
Liquor Dispensary are un-needed;
WHEREAS the said bars carried at a book value of $475, but efforts to sell them
over a period of several months have been fruitless,
WHEREAS said bars are not in use and are occupying usable space in the Village
office building;
AND WHEREAS Minnetonka Post #398 American Legion of Mound, Minnesota has
offered the sum of $401.00 for the purchase of said bar and back bar
together with accessories, and equipment,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUND
That the said bar and back bar together ivith all accessories and equipment,
presently located in the Village of Mound Off Sale Liquor Dispensary be
sold to M/nnetonka Post #398, American Legion for the sum of $401.00
to be removed by them on or before January 15, 1961.

POLICE CHIEF'S SALARY - Lamont Weiland
Batdorf offered the following resolution and moved its adoption.

RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WAGE OF CHIEF OF POLICE FOR CALENDAR
YEAR 1960
WHEREAS, under the Village Ordinances in effect until the codification of
August, 1960, the Village~ Manager was also Chief of Police;
WHEREAS, consideration of efficiency required that a police officer exercise
the duties of chief prior to the codified ordinances, and that Officer
Lamont Weiland was on July 1, 1960 assigned these duties ivith the
express understanding between himself and the Village Council that
he be given appropriate additional compensation therefor, and he
continued to exercise these duties until the adoption of the Mound
Code o} Ordinances;
WHEREAS, on adoption of the Village Code of Ordinances the office of Chief of
Police was established separate from the office of Manager and O[ficer
Lamont Weiland duly appointed thereto with the express understanding
that an appropriate advance wage be determined and allowed therefor;
AND WHEREAS, the Council has now had opportunity to review comparative wage
rates and duties
NOW THEREFORE
OF MOUND

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
That the wage for the Chief of Police acting chief of police and duties
thereof, as exercised during calendar year 1960, since July 1, 1960
be established at $2.80 prt hout
That the chief, and acting chief of police be allowed no additional
compensation in excess of 40 hours per week after July 1, 1960
That said Lamont Weiland be paid said wage for the calendar year 1960
from and after July 1, 1960 and that he be allowed no compensation for
overtime from and after July 1, 1960.

Batdorf moved and Pfeifer seconded ,a~motion to allow the following Delinquent
Tax Collections remain in the General Fund of the new Village of Mound.
The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried.

WHEREAS by resolution adopted June 21, 1960 Leonard L. Kopp was appointed
Village Manager of MOund, Minnesota effective':~uly 15, 1960
WHEREAS said resolution established his salary for calendar year 1961 at

Council that said salary as established for 1961 is inequitable in view
of the duties to be performed, problems to be encountered, and
heavy work load and numerous uncompensated overtime hours;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL, VILLAGE
OF MOUND, MINNESOTA
That the said resolution of June 21, 1960 be amended to provide a salary
for the calendar year 1961 of and the said salary of the Village Manager
to be $8,280.00 for the calendar year 1961.

APPOINTMENT OF CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECOT1DR AND DEPUTY
Batdorf moved and Petersen seconded a motion to appoint Leonard L. Kopp,
Village Manager as Mound Civil Defense Director; and to appoint Kenneth
Hansing as D~puty Civil Defense Direc~tor for the Village of Mound, Minn.
Mr. Hansing is to receive one dollar per year for such services. ~
