STREET VACATION: MAPLE PLACE & LAKE STREET Public Hearing Mayor Larson asked for the affidavit of public hearing for street vacation of Maple Place and Lake Street. !Richard Johnson, owner of Lots 29,30 Mound Addi- tion, was present. The Attorney ruled that with Mr. Johnsoh present and the petition bearing the names ofitwo property owners affected, that the hearing was legal. There were no objectors. Petersen Ay~ STREET VACATION: SUSSEX LANE Mayor Larson asked for the affidavit of oublic hearing for the vacation of that part of Sussex Lane comprised between a line running from the 8outhwest corner of Lot l, Block 2, to the Northwest corner of Lot 7, Block 3, and the South- westerly line of County Road No. 125, in the plat of Wychwood. Mr. Bertz, who presented the petition was present. Mr. & Mrs. Michael Caron, Lots 9 & l0 Blk 3; Mrs. Bertha Allen, Lot ll, Blk 3; Mrs. Martha Fillmore, Lot 2, Blk 2 & Lot 8, Blk 3~all in Wychwood were also present and objected to the vacation of this street. Mrs. Caron said this had been tried once before and these same people had ob- jected at that time as it would mean this road would never be cut through. There are so many cars parked there now, it is difficult to get out of there, and there are five more lots that haven't been built upon. Sussex Lane dead ends here as there is a very high bank here, and it has never been cut through. Mr. Caron said if Sussex Lane were lowered farther west,~his high bank cut down, and the hallow below filled in, it might be possible to join this road to #125 as originally planned. Manager Kopp wondered if a culdesac could be built here. The property owners said there wasn't enough room for a turn-around. Mayor Larson reminded them that the Village doesn't build roads, but will accept them when they are finished and approved. He wondered if the peoole living there and the owners of the vacant lots would be willing to put in a road. They said they couldn't say without knowing the cost, but they would try to get together and report. Carons own the high point and would be willing to have the road lowered in front of their place. Schoell & Madson have the elevations of all the roads in Island Park, but these elevations were not avail- able tonight. Peterson moved, Batdorf seconded, and it was unanimously carried to continue the hearing to June 20 at 8:00 P.M. at the Fire Station. It was unanimously carried. (See below next paragraph).
