One bid was received it was from Road Machinery & Supply Co. for $1,800.00, guaranteed for 20 working hour, this is the dust-pan type. Street and Water S6pt., Bernard Winkel recommended the Navarre Motors truck bid and Manger Kopp recommended the Navarre Motors police car bid. FIRE DEPT.- MOUND Present were: Bernie Winkel, Frank Weiland, Howard Om, Russ Orn, Curley Koechler, Phil Weiland, Duane and Jerry Dodds The problems fo merging the two departments were discussed. Pteifer asked for a joint meeting with the Island Park department, the meeting was set for April 9, 1963 at 7:30 P.M. at the Mound Fire Station. A BILL FOR AN AGT RELATING TO FIREMEN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUND BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. [ MOUND, VILLAGE OF; FIREMEN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION, SERVICE PENSIONS AND ELIGIBILITY°] Upon reorganization of the village of Mound fire department, a firemen's relief association is hereby authorized therefor in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, 1961, Chapter 69; provided for purposes of Minnesota Statutes, 1961, Section 69.28 the age limitation of 35 years shall not apply to firemen's relief associations existing prior to the annexation of the village of Island Park by the village of Mound in said municipalities; and provided further for the purposes of Minnesota Statutes, 1961, Section 69.06 a computation. of years of active duty and years of membership in either a firemen's relief association existing prior to said annexation or the firemen's relief association authorized in this section shall be based upon active duty and years of membership in any one or more of such fire departments or firemen's relief associations in said municipalities. Sec. 2. [ Distribution of monies by state auditor.] For purposes of Minnesota Statutes, 1961, Section 69.34 warrants shall be issued to the treasurer of the relief association or associations associated with the fire department or departments active during such fiscal year and in the event more than one such department is active during said fiscal year the state auditor shall issue his warrant to the treasurer of the village of Mound who shall distribute the funds to the treasurer of the relief association or associations, ratably, on the basis of duration of active service of and the area served by each such fire department during said fiscal year. Sec. 3. [Distribution of tax by village treasurer. ] For the purposes of Minnesota Statutes., 1961, Section 424.30, Subdivision 2, the treasurer of the village of Mound shall distribute the tax to the treasurer of the relief association or associations associated with the fire department or fire departments active during the year such tax was levied, ratably, on the basis of duration of active service of and the area served by each such fire department. Sec. 4. [ Prior relief associations existence continued° ] Firemen's relief associations existing in said municipalities prior to said organization shall continue to exist for the purpose of administering funds received and benefits earned prior to the incorporation of the firemen's relief association authorized herein. Sec. 5. This act shall become effective only after its approval by a majority of the governing body of the village of Mound and upon compliance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section 645. 021. 53. CONCORD BLVD. WATER ASSESSMENT The Water Assessment for Concord Blvd. was discussed. MEETING WITH UNION AGENT The agent for Local.664 requested to meet with the Council on April 9th but due to the over-loaded agenda the meeting was set for the 16~h.
