1965-03-09~NUTE,$ OF THE M~HCH 9, 1965 MEETING AT 8:'00 P.M. AT THE MOUND FIRE ~]T~TION Present were~ Mayor R. C. Koehn, Trustee LeRoy Heikkila, Del Pfeifer and William N. Johnson; Manager Leonard L. Kopp, Attorney Ray Ploetz, Engineers William Ochoell and William McCombs. Planning Commission ~ecommendations Dave Willette - Lots 61, 31 and 32 Mound ~hores Johnson moved and Pfeifer seconded a motion BE IT MOVED, the Village Council allow a variance of the Building Code to allow the construction of three houses on a site that had been previously a two home site; the owner agrees to sign a waiver and pay for one additional sewer unit on this property. The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried. Vernon Brandenburg and Charles Jackson appeared and spoke on trusses allowing 24" centers as opposed to 16" centers as now required. The Planning Commission recommends 2h" centers could be used oro~'±ded trusses are used. Ray Salden appeared an~ was holding up construction on the decision for the use of trusses. Ss]den agreed that on a 4 - 12 pitch he would use 5/8 stock with H clips on the sheet rock. Johnson moved and Heikkila seconded a motion BE IT MOVED, the Village Co~mcil allow a variance in the building code by allowing the the 24" centers with a trusses, subject to the following limits:' On h-12 pitch using 5/8 sheet rock with H clips. The vote was unanimously in favor so carrie~ The contract with Nason Law Wehrman and Knirht to clan a park and study the whole park system for the village was discussed - no action Robert Johnson appeared on Lot 9 Kohman's addition and the west 250 ft of Block 5 Shirley Hills Unit A - he has requested the zoning be changed from residential A to Multiple C to allow the construction of apartmept units. RECREATION IN ~gESTONKA Mrs. Helene Borg and a group from the League of Women Voters appeared in support of a 'berm' walk they sponsor, such berm to run from Navarre to Mound and serve as a sidewalk. Mrs. Borg spoke on the project and handed out a bound copy of RECREAT~ON IN WESTO~!~(A, a study made by this group which includes this berm. The Council took no action but did agree to look into costs and other pertinent details and advise the League of their findings. Aye Aye Aye KarlGruhn appeared on the proposed closing of the Mound Railroad Depo% Mr Gruhn spoke at l~ngth on the depot and urged the council to take some action to prevent the closing, to to show their views on the subject. The council agreed to write a letter or make an appearance at the he~ring.
