Village Hal~"~in Island Park Present: Mayor ~Mlberg, Councilmen Scruton, Anderson, and Regan, Village Manager Kopp and Attorney Pearson PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS Keith T. Putt Tract C, R.L.S. #1222 Anderson moved, Regan seco~ded and it was unanimously carried to allow variance from the Plumbing Code by permitting PVC (plastic pipe) above ground as a test. (It should be DWV weight or heavier, and if used with domestic water should be Schedule 40 or better). Inspection to be allowed once a year by the owner. 2. REZONING BLOCKS 1 & 2, SETON Anderson moved and Scruton seconded the motion RESOLUTION 67-160 Roll Call Vote Scruton Aye Anderson Aye Regan Aye Tulberg Aye So carried RESOLUTION ORDERING HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 23, MOUND CODE OF ORDINANCES ENTITLED 'Zoning" (Blocks 1 & 2, Seton) OVERSIZE SIGN - Wm. Malmsted Anderson moved, Regan seconded and it was unanimously carried to allow Wm. Malmsted to post an oversize sign on Northern Lane to advertise lots for sale. VARIANCE - Edward Buhr, Lot 3, ½2, Block 22, D~von Scruton moved, Regan seconded the motion, and it was unanimously carried to allow a variance in set backs to allow a two-car ~ara~e to be attached to the house and to extend not more than 22 feet toward Service Road. ~I SC US SI ON Wm. Johnson and Wm. Clark spoke on pollution in Cook's Bay. The Council indicated they would have no objection to a skimmer being put in Lost Lake Channel 5. TRUSSES A discussion was held on allowing trusses. Anderson moved, Regan seconded the motion ORDINANCE NO. 226 A AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26, PART A, "BUILDING CODE", OF THE MOUND CODE OF ORDINANCES The Village Council of the Village of Mound do ordain: 1, That Chapter 26 of Part A of the Mound Code of Ordinances entitled "Building Code" be, and hereby is, amended by adding to the pro- visions of Section 26.02, minimum standards, thereof subdivision "d" as follows, to-wit: Section 26.02. Minimum STandards. (d) Trusses. Rafters oq~24-inch center consisting of approved trusses are permitted. The maximum span thereof for both upper and lower segments must not exceed those permitted by the tables of the Building Code for a 40-pound live load for roofs and a 20-pound live load for ceiling. Roof sheathing on trusses must be 1/2 inch, or more, plywood ~for roof slopes greater than 4 feet in 12 feet, and 5/8 inch plywood is required for roof slope of 4 feet in 12 feet or,ss. All end supports of plywood must be supported with either blocking or "h" clips designed for this purpose. One-half inch sheetrock may be applied if fire rating is not required provided wood blocking or glued sheetrock backin~is used. 2. That this ordinance be effective from and after its adoption for publication according to law. Ray Salden - Parcel 8912, Mound Terrace Anderson moved, Regan seconded and it was unanimously carried to allow Ray Salden to install plastic plumbing pipe as a test in house on Parcel 8912. (It should be DWV weight or heavier and if used with domestic water should be Schedule 40 or better). In- s~ection shall be allowed once a year by appointment with owner. DOCK PERMIT Anderson moved, Scruton seconded and it was passed unanimously to allow James Marbeck on Excelsior Lane. LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT Scruton moved and Regan seconded the motion. RESOLUTION CALLING A HEARING TO DETERMINE CREATION OF A LAXE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT DISCUSSION The Manager was requested to get bids for the 1967 Audit. The Attorney was requested to check a proposed mutual aid fire agreement. RESOLUTION CERTIFYING UNPAID WATER AND SEWER SERVICE CHARGES MAYW00D ROAD-FAIRVIEW LANE A group of residents from Maywood Road and Fairview Lane appeared requesting some sort of dust control, and presented petitions for street improvement. RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF REPORT ON IMI~ROVE~IENT DISCUSSION 1. Discussion was held on the possibility of Village-wide Garbage Collection. No decisJ on. 2. Dust Control The Village Manager presented a list of streets recommending dust con- trol. The Council added Maywood Road and Fairview Lane to the list. The Mayor requested that Bay Ridge and t~lstead Lane be dropped. Mr. Anders~n requested Clover Circle be put lower on the priority list. 5. Brooks Claim R. M. Ferron of Northern Contracting appeared saying that Northern should deal with Brooks~ not Village. The Attorney was directed to write a letter to Brooks explaining the situation.
