THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUND DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
BUILDING CODE, HOUSING CODE AND DANGEROUS BUILDING CODE
PART A.
REGULATION OF ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION,
ENLARC'gMENT, ALTERATION, REPAXR, MOVING,
REMOVAL, DEMOLITION, CONVERSION, OCCUPANCY,
EQUIPMENT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA AND MAINTENANCE
OF ALL BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES
Purpose:
The purpose of this chapter is to provide minimum
standards to safeguard life, limb, health,
property, safety and the public welfare by
regulating and controlling the design, con-
struction, alteration, repair, maintenance,
quality of materials of all buildings and
structures within the Village of Mound and
to provide for abating dangerous building
Section 26.01 of the Village Code shall be amended to read as
follows:
Section 26.01. Adoption of Uniform Building
Code and Uniform Housin~ Code and' D~gerous Building Code.

on file and marked "Official Copies" in the Village offices
of the Villageof Mound entitled "Uniform Building Code,
1967 Edition", "Uniform Building Code, Volume III, Housing,
1967 Edition", and "Uniform Building Code, Volume IV,
Dangerous Buildings, 1967 Edition", published by the
International Conference of Building Officials, are hereby
adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set forth in
this ordinance, except Sections 204, 302(d), 303 (a), Table
No. 3-A, Section 305(b), and the second paragraph of
Section 205 of the Uniform Building Code shall not apply;
and except that H 203, H 204, H 302, and Section 303 of
the Uniform Building Code, Volume III, Housing, 1967 Edition,
shall not apply; and except that Section 205 of the Uniform
Building Code, Dangerous Buildings, Volume IV, 1967 Edition,
shall not apply. Whenever the provisions of any specific
ordinance of the Village of Mound or statute of the State
of Minnesota conflict with either the Building Code, Housing
Code, or Dangerous Buildings Code, the specific ordinance or
state statute shall be applicable, and shall be deemed to
control. Whenever the word "City" appears in said Codes,
the same shall mean the Village of Mound.

AN ORDINANCE A~ENDING SECTION 25.01 OF THE
FIRE PREVENTION CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF
MOUND ADOPTING THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE,
1965 EDITION~ AS AMENDED
The Village Council of the Village of Mound does ordain:
Section 25.01 of the Village Code shall be amended to read
as follows:
Section 25.01, AdOption of Fire Prevention Code.
There is hereby adopted by the V'~li'~ge ~ M~uHd'£or the--
purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions
hazardous to life and property from fire explosion that
certain code known as the 1965 edition, as amended, of the
Fire Prevention Code. as published by the American Insurance
Association, 222 West Adams Street, Chicago, Illinois,
save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, mod-
ified, or amended by Section 25.05 hereof, and the same is
hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at
length herein and the said provisions thereof shall be
controlling within the limits of the Village of Mound.
Further that there be kept on file in the office of the
Village Clerk three copies thereof each marked, "Village
of Mound, Official Copy." (Ord. 58 - 12/12/1955; Ord. 98 -
5/24/1960; Ord. 131- 7/20/1961; Ord. ~29- 8/29/67).

ORDINANCE NO. 250
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE ViLlAGE
CODE CR~*~TING AND F~TABLISHING FIRE ZONES
The Village Oouncil of the Village of Mound does ordain as follows:
Sections 24.01 and ~4.02 of the Village 0ode are amended to read as
follows:
Section 24.O1 CREATION OF FIRE ZONES. In accord-
ance with Chapter 16 of the Uniform Building Code, the Village of
Mound shall be considered a Fire District and shall be divided into
Fire Zones One, Two and Three.
(a) F~re Zone One (]) shall consist of all
property in the Villa?e of Mound zoned by Chapter
~ Industrial, Limited Industrial, Limited Business,
General Business, ~Commercial A or Commercial.
(b) Fire Zone Two (2) shall consist of all
property in the Village of Mound zoned by Chapter
2) in any Multiple Dwelling Use District.
(c) Fire Zone Three ()) shall consist of all
property in the Village of Mound zoned by Chapter
2) in Residential Use Districts Al, A2, and B.
(d) All construction, additions, alterations
and repairs in any fire zone shall meet the standards
and regulations established by the Uniform Building
Code as adopted by Section 26.01 of this Code, ex-
cept as modified by Section 24.02.
Section 24.02. PETITION AifO A~.~,~DM~T Pi~OCEDURE. The
building inspector, upon petition to the Village of any owner of prop-
erty zoned Fire Zone One or Fire Zone Two, a~d upon filing therewith o£
plans and specifications of a proposed building for said property, of
~nultiple dwelling nature for Fire Zone One, or of Residential Al, AP_
or Residential B nature for Fire Zone One or Two; and upon due showing
that the block in which said property is located has not been built upon
at the time of such application in excess of 2~% (based upon ground
square foot area of said block); and it appearing that such building
condit~ons and alterations in said plans and specifications which the
inspector deem? necessary to provide ~uitab]e fire protection and upon
receipt of a written recommendation from the fire chief that said change
will not adversely affect the health, safety and general we]fare of
other residents or property owners in the area, designate such property
as the fire zone category use proposed for said property.
