1968-03-26MINUTES OF MEETING OF MARCH 26, 1968 7:30 P.M., Village ttall in Island Park Present: Mayor Fenstad, Councilmen Regan, Andreasen, Swenson, Schmidt, Attorney Pearson, Village Manager Kopp, and Engineer Leer of Schoell & Madson MINUTES Regan moved and Schmidt seconded to accept the m~nutes of March 12, 1968 with the following correction: On Page 29 under questions by r~sidents of Pembroke, Wychw~od and Avon: "Regan moved that the discussion on the Police Department be tabled until another statement from the prosecuting attorney is received. Andreasen seconded, and it was u~animously carried." On roll call vote, all voted, "Aye" except Swenson who said they were too brief. SHORELINE BOULEVARD DRAINAGE Mr. Leer presented the preliminary assessment r~ll for Shoreline Boulevard Drainage. RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT (Shoreline Boulevard Drainage, Project 67-6) BLOCK 9, AVALON Regan moved and Schmidt seconded the motion AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23, "ZONING", OF THE MOUND CODE OF ORDINANCES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MOUND, MINNESOTA: 1. That Chapter 23 of the Mound Code of Ordinances, entitled, "Zoning", be, and hereby is, amended by reducing the Residential A-1 Use District, Ordinance Section 23.011, by removing thereform, and by increasing the Residential Use District B, Ordinance Section 23.05, oy adding thereto the following described tract: Block 9, Avalon 2. RES!~LUTION GRANTING VARIANCE (Prt of Lots 22 and 23, Lafayette Park, Parcel 2600) Carl Johnson Lot 2, Block 2, Bay Ridge Permission to build two homes on this !Pt. The lot has the necessary square footage; if it were divided in two, building permits could be issued, but Mr. Johnson does not want to split the lot at this time. It was given to the Attorney for advisement. LIBRARY SITE Some time ago the County Library Board gave tentative approval to the corner of W~lshire Boulevard and Maywood Road (Lots 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, Block 3, Shirley Hills Unit D) as a library site. The Board has now requested that the area be definitely set aside for library purposes. The Vi~age is the fee owner of Lots 9, 11, 12 and 13 and owns Lot 10 on a tax f~¥feit deed. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PLAT PLAN FOR LIBRARY SITE (~enson's objection was that he wanted to know what Lot 10 would cost if it were purchased.) CIVIL DEFENSE ALARM SYST~ The Village has had to depend on telephone calls from either the Civil Defense Headquarters or the Hennepin County Sheriff's radio. The "~ell and Light System" is now available to Mound provided there is a place where someone is on duty 24 hours a day and 365 days a year to activate the Village siren. Tonka Corp. has said they would permit the installation and activate tha siren. Andreasen moved, Schmidt seconded, and it was unanimously carried to authorize the installation of the "Bell and Light System" on Tonka Corp. property.
