1968-07-23MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF July 23, 1968 at the ISLAND PARK HALL, MOUND, MINN. at 7:30 P.M. Present were: Mayor Orval Fenstad, Councilmen Eldo Schmidt, Gordon T. Swenson, James Regsn and John Andreasen; Attorney Curtis Pearson and Village Manager Leonard L. Kopp. MINUTES - July 9, 1968 The minutes of the July 9, 1968 were read. Regan corrected the minutes on the motion approving a hearing for Home Occupation, his vote was nay. Schmidt moved and Re~an seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the July 9, 1968 meeting as read and corrected. The vote was unanimously in favor. HEARING DILAPIDATED BUILDINGS Morris Rain of Lots 8 a~d 9 Block 30 Seton appeared, he had been served with written notice on bis open excavations and had filled these excavations. No other citizens appeared on this matter. Swenson moved and Andreasen seconded a motion BE IT MOVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Mound that the hearing on Dilapidated Buildings be continued until August 27, 1968. The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried. TUEXEDO BLVD IMPROVEMENT & O~HER PROJECTS CONTRACTED TO SUBURBAN PAVING INC. Herman Held of Suburban Paving Inc. appeared. Engineer W mM ills went over the list of complaints on projects contracted to Suburban Paving Inc. The council questioned Mr. Held on the hold-up on work progress, lack of barricades, sod not satisfactory. Mr. Held apologized for mistakes made and promised better service snd workmanship. HEARING ON SPECIAL USE PERMIT - School Bus Garage Tom Branvold and Jim Riley appeared in support of their petition. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR LOTS 12-15, INCLUSIVE, KOEHLERS ADDITION TO MOUND BOSMA BUILDING Bosma appeared and some neighbors, namely Don Borey and Norman 0veson and had no objections after seeing the pictures exhibited by Mr. Bosma. Highway Traffic Regulation Act Adopted by Reference. The regulatory provisions o~ Minnesota-Statutes ~H~-~as amended, are hereby adopted as a traffic ordinance regulating the use of highways, streets, and alleys within the Village of Mound and three (3) copies of said Act ar~ on ~ile in the village offices and marked '~illage o~ Nonnd Official Copies." Said highway traffic regulation act is hereby incorporated into and made a part of this ordinance as completely as if met out herein in full. This ordinance shall take e~ect and be in force from and after its passage and publication. The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried. LIQUOR STORE IMPROVEMENTS Andreasen moved and Swanson seconded a motion BE IT MOVED by the Village Council of the Village of Mound that the LiQuor Store Manager be authorized to purchase carpeting from~ Willette's Decorating with a five year guarantee for not more than $6?5.00; lined drapes & rods from Nancy's Draperies at not more than $310.00; and remodeling by Brandenburg and the installation of Iron Grill Work for not more than $~59.OO and Iron Grill for approximately $50.00 from Sears and Roebuck. The vote was Andreasen, Schmidt, Swenson and Fenstad in favor and Regan opposed. The motion carried. PARKING ON CERTAIN STREET - was discussed and action was deferred. ADJUSTMENT ON SEWER BASE RATE Swenson moved and Andreasen seconded the motion BE IT MOVED, that account #030690 be set at minimum until base is again established in 1969. The vote was unanimously in favor, so ~ Arden. ADJUSTMENT ON SEWER BASE RATE Swenson moved and Regan seconded a motion BE IT MOVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Mound, that the sewer base rate on account #150450 be set at 18,000 gallons until the base is again established in 1969. The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried. EASEMENT ON TUXEDO ROAD Andreasen moved and Swenson seconded a motion BE IT MOVED, that the Village Council of the Village of Mound does authorize the payment of $1,000.00 for an easement on the Tuxedo Boulevard Project 67-2, to the owners of Plat 37719 Parcels 6000 and 7000 (Section 19) (2888 Tuxedo Blvd.) The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried. The mayor called for a second, no second was forthcomingI the motion died for lack of a second. Regan moved and Swenson seconded a motion to pay the bills listed only where funds are available.
