1968-10-08MINUTES 0F REGULAR MEETING OF OCTOBER 8, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. at the Island Park Hall, Mound, Minnesota P~esent: Mayor Fenstad, Councilmen Regan, Schmidt, Swenson and Andreasen, Attorney Pearson, Village Manager Kopp and Engineer Mills TUXEDO BOULEVARD - Project 67-2 Mr. Mills explained the changes in the assessments resulting from change in criteria. Alvin Besse, 3101 Tuxedo Boulevard wondered if there would be additional assessments on this project. Mr. Mills and the Council explained that this was the total assessment. RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT Project 67-2 Tuxedo Boulevard Street ENCHANTED ROAD - Project 67-4 Mr. Mills explained the changes in the assessments resulting from change in criteria. There was no one ,from the area present. RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT Project 67-4 Enchanted Road BASSWOOD LANE - Project 67~3 Mr. Mills explained that changes in the assessments were the result of a change in criteria. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Anderson, 5501Tonkawood Road, asked if the contractor was going to finish the work. Mr. Mills said that the con- tractor had told him that he would. The A.ndersons said there are two corner stakes missing, both front and back, and they would like to have these replaced. Mr. Clarence Splettstoeszer was present and said he wasn't satisfied with his driveway either, but he would rather fix it himself. The Council asked Mr. Mills to confer with both Mr. Splettstoeszer and the Andersons. RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT Project 67-3 Basswood Lane PIPER ROAD - Project 67-9 Mr. Mills explained that the reassessing was done to conform to the Village criteria that the triangular lots should have been averaged. Mr. Cosmas Gross, owner of Lots 1,2,3, Block 7, Whipple, said that he was not satisfied with the way this project was assessed. Neither he nor his neighbor, Mr. Kolar, can use the road, yet they are the ones who have to pay for it. The six who need to use the road are not assessed. Mr. Kolar, 3223 Warner Lane, agreed with Mr. Gross and also was concerned about the drainage assessment on his lots, Lots 19,20,21 and ~ in Block 6. The Council asked the engineer to check this out and report. RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT Project 67-9 Piper Road BEACHW00D ROAD - Project 68-15 A letter was received and noted from the owner of Lot 16, Block l, Batdorf's First Addition. Mr. Mills explained the assessing of this project. PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS Item 2 - Stephen Wilson, 2630 Westedge Boulevard Permission to move in a house onto Plat 61223, Parcel 900 Swenson moved, Schmidt seconded, and it was unanimously carried to set a hearing for October 29, 1968. ~ Item Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Bartlett and Wilshire Variance for sign Andreasen moved, Regan seconded, and it was unanimously carried to grant a variance for a "Name Plate" 3'~ 5' V-shaped sign, as presented, to be placed on the property of Mount Olive Lutheran Church on Wil- shire Boulevard at least 25 feet from the curb. Item 5 Ben Shaffer, 2949 0aklawn Lane Vacation of Ashbourne Road, Wexford and Devon Lanes in Seton Mr. Shaffer was referred to the Park Commission which meets October 21.
