1970-09-08140 MINUTES OF TH]~ COUNCIL MEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUND TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 1970 at 7:30 P.M. at the ISLAND PARK HALL, MOUND, MINNESOTA Present were: Mayor Orval Fenstad, Councilmen Eldo Schmidt, Gordon Swenson, Charles Peterson and John Andreasen; Manager Leonard Kopp~ Attorney Curtis Pearson and Engineer William Mills COMMENDING LOUISE HUESTIS STEVENS Andreasen moved and Schmidt seconded a motion RESOLUTION 70-241 RESOLUTION COMMENDING LOUISE HU~STIS ST~ENS Roll Call Vote Andreasen Aye Schmidt Aye Peterson Aye Swenson Aye Fenstad Aye So resolved ASSESSMENT HEARING FOR BAYRIDGE-HALSTEAD LANE STREET AND STORM SEWER William Mills explained the project Wm Koenig feels the job is not adequate, it looks so patched. The council said they had agreed that the contractor was to put on a seal coat over the entire project before the job was even under consideration for accepting. The engineer agreed that the seal coat would be applied next July or August 1971, at no cost to the village. Ray Ploetz, attorney representing Kay Kammon, protested Kammon's assessment. engineer admitted the error in Ksmmon's assessment was made in his office. Engineer called the defect a 'bird bath' and said it could be fixed but would show a patch, corner of Diessner and Smaber Lanes. Mrs Tweed asked the amount of the orginal bid. The attorney corrected the title of Resolution 70-205 to read 'RESO~tTION DENYING IMPROVEMENT (Project 70-31, Chester Park Storm Sewer) and the title of Resolution 70-225 to read RESOLUTION OFFERING $7,500.00 for a PERMANENT AND TEMPOP~RYEASEMENT ON I~E BRONCE PROPERTY - DAYLIGHTING CURVE ON #IlO at Bartlett and Uom~erce Boulevards. Schmidt moved and Andreasen seconded a motion to accept the minutes of the August ll, 1970 meeting as read and corrected. The vote was unanimously in favor so carried and accepted. The minutes of the meeting of August 25, 1970 were read. The attorney corrected Resolution 70-240 The a and b under paragraph 3. are changed to a and b under paragraph 4.
