1970-12-29THE MEETING OF D~;CEMBER 29, 19~ st 7:30 P.M. st the ISL/~Ni'~ PARK HAlL MOUND, MIN,~' i~S(~lkA 186 Present were" Mayor Orval Fenstad, Councilmen John Andreasen, lap Schmidt, Gordon Swenson and Charles Peterson (Councilman Peterson arrived late); Attorney Curtis Pearson and Village Manager Leonard Kopp. SPECIAL USE PER,ET - Smoking,turkeys, chickens and the preparation of beans. Fergus Ka!levig appeared. Appe~ring in opoosition to the proposed Special Use Permit were Bob McClellan and Tom Reese and their wives. Councilman Andreasen sai5 he had had several calls, all in opnosit~on to the proposed use. Fenstad moved and Swe~son seconded a motion. BE I'~ MOVED, by ~e Village Council of the Village of Mound that action on the Proposed special use permit be delayed until 9:00 P.M. tonite. The vote was unanimously in favor so carried° TAXI CAB LICENSE Cliff Sherman appeared, he proposed to buy Ferd Schwartz cab business and the cabs. The matter was discussed at length. Mr Sherman will reaoply at the end of January 1971, when the licenses are due, he has also been instructed to bring a letter of intent from his insurance agent that would state the ins~.~rance to be granted, and its coverage. POLICE CONTRACT ~/,ITH VILLAGE OF MINNETRISTA Andreasen moved and Swenson seconded a motion BE IT MOVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Mound that the Police Contract with Minnetrista, as presented be tentatively approved. The vote was ~nanimous!y in favor~ so carried. The sale of lounge was discussed Andreasen moved and Swenson seconded the motion BE IT MOVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Mound that Village Manager and the Village attorney be directed to meet with Douglas Bryce and his attorney to draw up a ourchase agreement for the sale of Mound Liquor Lounge. The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried. SOLID !~STE ORDINANCE - discussed Andreasen moved and Schmidt seconded a motion BE IT MOVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Mound that a public meeting be held on Tuesday, January 26, 1971 at the Shirley Hills Little Theatre at 7:30 P.M. for the purpose of discussing the Minnesota State ban on outsid~ burning. The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried. ~S~,JOOD HOMES - discussed, no one was present to represent them, the matter was returned to the Planning Commission for further study. CIVIC CENTER SITE LOTS - The ~anager recommends that the Village trade lots with Judge Wolner, the council directed the manager prepare the papers for the exchange of lots, as recommended.. The Mayor made the following appointments: Park Commission, Rex A!w~ and Willard Hiller for three years each Planning Commission, Joseph Partington and Frank Wei!and for three years each The minutes of the December 8, 1970 meeting were read.
