Ray Pierce asked why the Masonic Hall was assessed when they were not a business
and could use the business parking when the businesses were closed; and also had
the use of the Catholic church parking lot~ granted from a former priest. The
answer was that they were supposed to frrnlsh their o~n oarking and the mayor
had heard from church members that they resented the use of their parking by
another group..
Ed Johnson said that Netka's apartments used the street rather than the parking
arovidedo Dorothy Netka stated that parking vms provided for all their
tenants and that the tenants were instructed to use the ~arking provided and not
park on the street.
Frank Livingston objected to the ,yellow line in front of the curb side mail box
in front of the post office. Consideration w~21 be given to using a broken
yellow line there and possible erection of signs. He also objected to what he
considered the taxpayers share of this project. The V~lla~e Manager again
exp!ai~ed, that the so called Village assessment would be paid by the business
men in the form of a maintenance charge that would be made up of the current
soecist assessments on these parcels olus, snow olowing, sweeping, etc~
Phil Lansing asked if there wo~]_d be any further special assessments on the
marking and the answer was no~ only the mai~tenance would be charged.
~:~ranics Broich asked the engineer if his assessment had been changed to the west
area rather than the north~ the answer was yes, on the roll oresented tonight the
change had been made.
Peter Kitchak~ attorney for R. J. Rondorf, protested Rondorf's assessment on a
State Law based on benefit and. Francis Br¢>ich asked permission to make a statement
on this. He stated that he had paid over [{6~OO0.OO for a parkinE lot and the
parking had :mt been limited and had been used by al!; and the [{ondorf building had
no parking and Rondorf building customers had used his parking and while the
charge was made for parking at a greater distance from the Rondorf building than
his attorney felt reflected benefit their use of his lot seemed to even things to
the greater benefit of the Rondorf building customers.
