MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 2~ 1773 St 8 P.M. AT SHIRLEY HILLS
SCHOOL, MOUND, MINNESOTA
PRESENT AT ROLL CALL WERE: Acting Mayor John Andreasen; Councilmen Donald Ulrick~
Orval Fenstad and Gordon Swenson; Engineer Keith Englesby~ Manager Leonard Kopp
and Attorney Curtis Pearson.
MINUTES
The minutes of the July 10, 1973 meeting were presented for consideration. Fenstad
moved and Swenson seconded a motion to accept the minutes of the July 10, 1973
meeting as presented. The vote was unanimously in favor.
HEARIN~ IDLEWOOD WATER
Engineer Englesby outlined the project. Henry Sawicki wanted to know where he
was hooked up to this line; after considerable discussion it was found he was not
hooked into this line and not charged for such a hook up but if it became necessary
to hook him into this line st some further date he would be hooked up at no cost
to him at that time.
Fenstad moved and Swenson seconded a motion
RESCLUTION 73-218
RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT (Idlewood Water
- 15 years at 8% interest) $7,833.19
The roll call vote was unanimously in favor.

The engineer outlined the project.

HOUSING AUTHORITY
The staff was instructed to prepare a resolution of commendation for the services
of Martha Schluter, retiring me.mber of the Housing Authority for the meeting of
August iL, 1973.
Ulrick moved and Fenstad seconded a motion
BE IT MOVED, by the village Council of the Village of Mound that the matter of
an appointment to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Martha
Schluter from the Housing Authority be tabled until the meeting of August
1973.
The vote was unanimously in favor.
COMNENTS AND SUCK~ESTIONS BY CITIZENS PRESENT
John Scruton of 3037 Drury Lane asked that the popular tree on village property be
removed before it fell on his property.
Don Geffre spoke as president of the Three Points Playground Association shout the

vandalism in the Three Points Park~ electric wires torn out~ broken glass, beer
cans and beer drinking in the park, motorcycles and cars on the park property,
excessive noise created by this traffic and use of the park. No signs are in
the park to spell out the rules. The spokesman stated they felt their proposed
project to raise money for the park was a waste if something was not done to
preserve the property already installed.
The staff was directed to take the matter up with the Chief of Police.

BE IT MOVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Mound that the matter of
increasing the Part Time Police wage scale be tabled.
The vote was unanimously in favor.

OLD VILLAGE RECORII~
Dan Flaherty submitted his first list of old records no longer necessary to the
function of the government and expendable in the interest of storage space. If
the Council deems these records to be as stated the list will be submitted to
the the Minnesota Historical Society and the Department of Administration of the
State of Minnesota.

as opposed to a temporary sewer hook-up at Grandview and request that a
permanent line be installed to the Metro interceptor.

iL, 1973 at 8 P.M. at the Shirley Hills School.
