AT THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS Present were: Mayor Donald Ulrick, Councilmen Orval Fenstad, Tim Lovaasen and Gordon Swenson (Frank Philbrook was absentl; Attorney Curtis Pearson and City Manager Leonard. C OMME NDA TIONS ¥ The mayor presented letters of aapl~iohi~leG~tiz~i~actec~f oj~cl~ttflr~h tt~,c-J~oge~a~kqrtlfion and Dan Muzzy who pulled a boy from the icy water of Dutch Lake and saved his life by their quick thinking and actions. The audience and council applauded the boys. BRIDGE ON BARTLETT BLVD. Herb Klossner displayed preliminary drawings of the proposed bridge on Bartlett Blvd at the Lost Lake channel. The bridge is plant, ed for 36 foot wide with a 5 foot sidewalk on ei~t~er side at an approximate cost of $145,000.00, galvanized metal railing mounted ona'~ concrete abuttment. The road would be closed from April thru October of the year it would be constructed. Asking questions were: Ted. Mohrman, wants a '~lcq~t lt~lcil~r~rflaI~rl4r]~Olageqrp~p~}ar~l~[~es Robert Hanson, questioned the width John Wagman, questioned if the channel would be affected., filled in or dredged out AFS STUDENTS Fred Bame, the co-president of the AFS Student group introduced the following AFS Students: Andrea Lommer - Germany Tom Prinz - Austria Cornalia Van Breemen - Holland Diane Mansfield - South Afric~a Diane Mansfield presented the mayor with letters of greetings from two mayors from Pier country after she spoke about her country and. the appreciation of the students for {he opportunity of the AFS Student program she in tur.n received letters from our mayor to the mayors of South Africa. Mayor Ulrick rea~,~,ttae letters he received and the formal address of 'your worship' really tickled the ma~iand the audience. Diane was a most appealing speaker.
