AUGUST 25, 2003
The City Council of the City of Mound, Hennepin County, Minnesota, met in special
workshop session on Monday, August 25, 2003, at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers of
City Hall.
Members Present: Mayor Pat Meisel, Councilmembers Mark Hanus, David Osmek and
Peter Meyer.
Members Absent: Councilmember Bob Brown
Others Present: City Manager Kandis Hanson, City Clerk Bonnie Ritter, Community
Development Director Sarah Smith, Parks Director Jim Fackler, Public Works
Superintendent Greg Skinner, Police Chief Jim Kurtz, Fire Chief Greg Pederson,
Finance Director Gino Businaro, Liquor Store Manager John Colotti,
1. OPEN MEETING
Mayor Meisel called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m.
2. DISCUSSION ON GENERAL FUND REVENUES
Businaro reviewed the General Fund Revenues and answered related questions.
3. SUMMARY OF REVENUES & EXPENDITURES
Businaro presented the summary of revenues & expenditures.
4. PRELIMINARY DISCUSSION ON LEVY AND FUND BALANCE
Businaro reviewed the levy and fund balance, along with the proposed tax rate and total
levy figures.
5. INDIVIDUAL BUDGETS~ INCLUDING CAPITAL PURCHASES/PROGRAMS
Individual department budgets were reviewed with questions being answered by
prospective Department Heads.
It was noted that the discussion followed the agenda through item U - Liquor Store.
The workshop of September 2® will begin with discussion on item V - Water
Department.
ADJOURN
MOTION by Osmek, seconded by Hanus to adjourn at 9:22 p.m. All voted in favor.
Motion carried.
