1981-04-14SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL April 14, 1981 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Mound, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 5341Maywood Road in said City on April 14, 1981 at 5:00 p.m. Those present were: Mayor Rock Lindlan, Councilmembers Gordon Swenson, Robert Polston, Pinky Charon and Donald Ulrick. Also present were City Manager Leonard L. Kopp and City Clerk Mary H. Cronin. ACTING CITY MANAGER Swenson moved and Polston seconded a motion to change the classification of Managerls Secretary to Administrative Secretary to the City Manager with a salary increase of $50.00 effective May 1, 1981; $75.00 effective July 1 1981 and $75.00 effective October 1, 1981 ' Roll call vote was unanimously in favor. Polston moved and Swenson seconded a motion to appoint the Administrative Secretary as Acting City Manager until the new City Manager is employed. The vote was unanimously in favor. NEW MANAGER SELECTION Polston moved and Ulrick seconded a motion to offer the City Manager's position to Jon Elam at $29,500 with a relocation stipend of $2,400 plus moving cost and a letter of intent making a five year commitment with a contract to be executed. Roll call vote was four in favor with Mayor Lindlan voting nay. Polston moved and Charon seconded a motion RESOLUTION 81-119 RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE MANAGER'S SELECTION COMMITTEE FOR A JOB WELL DONE The vote was unanimously in favor. Councilmember Charon left at 6:45 p.m. ACTING CHIEF OF POLICE Swenson moved and Polston seconded a motion to authorize Officer Hudson be salaried at $28,500 until a new chief is hired and be designated Actin9 Chief of Police. The vote was three in favor with Mayor Lindlan votin9 nay. ADJOURNMENT Ulrick moved and Swenson seconded a motion to adjourn to the next regular meeting on April 21, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. The vote was unanimously in favor, so adjourned. eonard L.
