2005-02-01 MOUND CITY COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 1.2005 The City Council of the City of Mound, Hennepin County, Minnesota, met in special session on Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers of city hall Members Present: Mayor Pat Meisel; Councilmembers Bob Brown, David Osmek, Mike Specht, and John Beise. Others Present: City Manager Kandis Hanson, City Clerk Bonnie Ritter, Parks Director Jim Fackler, Community Development Director Sarah Smith, Fire Chief Greg Pederson, Finance Director Gino Businaro, Public Works Director Carlton Moore, Police Chief Jim Kurtz, Jim Prosser and Dave Callister of Ehlers & Associates. 1. Open Meeting Mayor Meisel called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. 2. Key Financial Strategies by Jim Prosser and Dave Callister of Ehlers & Associates Jim Prosser reviewed the concept and why the City should adopt a Key Financial Strategies Plan. He encouraged additions to the draft to make sure all issues are included that need to be addressed. The Plan should be the bible for future planning and should be reviewed often and revised as needed. Dave Callister defined items on the presented spreadsheet, stressing that the amounts are forecasts of potential needs, not a budget. Prosser explained that the next step is for the Council to make changes and recommendations to him so that he can make the appropriate changes and bring the plan back for adoption. Another work session can be held if needed before adoption. Meisel suggested setting a workshop for April 19, 2005 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., to refine the plan so that it can be put on the following council agenda for adoption. 3.
