1987-08-29150 August 29, 1987 MINUTES - MOUND CITY COUNCIL - AUGUST 29, 1987 The City Council of Mound, Hennepin County, Minnesota, met in special session on Saturday, August 29, 1987, at 7:00 A.M. in the Council Chambers at 5341 Maywood Road, in said City. Those present were: Mayor Steve Smith, Councilmembers Don Abel, Liz Jensen, Phyllis Jessen and Skip Johnson. Also present were: City Clerk Fran Clark, City Engineer John Cameron. The Mayor opened the meeting. The purpose of this meeting was to receive a report from the City Engineer on the feasibility of filp-flopping the new addition to the Riley Building. The City Engineer explained that if this' is done there would be an 900 square foot gain and the cost would be $66,500. The additional costs would come from having to move the wash bay to another area and having additional outside walls. There was Council discussion on the report. MOTION made by Smith, seconded by Abel to approve making .the necessary changes to make the new addition to the Riley Building face the east instead of the west. The vote was unanimously in favor. Motion carried. The Council discussed the extra cost and decided not to change the maximum amount of the referendum from $790,000. The Council then reviewed the Fact Sheet for the referendum and made revisions. They then instructed the City Clerk to prepare the revised Fact -Sheet and get it ready for printing and a mail- ing to all registered voters in the °City. Council~member Jessen was excused. MOTION made by Abel, seconded by Johnson to adjourn at 9:30 A.M. The vote was unanimously in favor. Motion carried. Fran Clark, CMC, City Clerk
